We’re all guilty of putting things in our basket without checking the price until we get to the checkout, however one man was left stunned after discovering the hefty price tag for cherry tomatoes in a supermarket.
The anonymous man, who shared his shock on Reddit, showed how the cherry tomatoes came up on the self-checkout system priced at £900.06.
Posting a picture of the hilarious pricing error online, Reddit user Ok_Artichoke_6499 gave the post the simple caption: “Cherry tomatoes. On offer at Morrisons.”

Elsewhere in his basket, the customer had items like garlic for 75p and Wiltshire ham for £1.60. It’s only when you look at the total amount, which reached a whopping £923.90, you realise something is seriously wrong.
The comment went viral on Reddit, with over 4,000 votes and 200 comments from shocked and concerned users.
One person joked: “What are they made of? Lurpak?”

Another Reddit user replied: “Nah, definitely Bounty kitchen roll to be THAT expensive.”
While another shopper quipped: “They come with 250g of caviar and 1/2kg of A5 Wagyu.”

“Hey, you beat my record! My (online) Sainsbury's order a couple of weeks ago wanted to charge me £108 for 12 mushrooms!”

Someone else shared: “Had the same thing recently in Asda, where it wasn’t until I pointed out that the baguette should not have cost £750 that the cashier noticed.”
One person referenced the cost of living crisis, writing: “Just a little treat for yourself during these hard times? money bags.”
A spokesperson for Morrisons said: "This is clearly a mistake and we're looking into what caused the error. In the meantime, we would like to apologise to this customer for any shock caused."
This supermarket customer isn't the only person to notice a pricing error. One man received a compensation cheque for more than £2 trillion after being without electricity for a few days.

Gareth Hughes, from Hebden Bridge, was left without power during Storm Arwen and he was seemingly given a huge payout because of the major inconvenience.
Taking to Twitter to share his reaction after becoming a trillionaire- and to also check whether it was all too good to be true - Gareth wrote: "Thank you for our compensation payment @Northpowergrid for the several days we were without power following #stormarwen.
"Before I bank the cheque however, are you 100 percent certain you can afford this? #trillionpounds."

Meanwhile, one young couple were shocked when they discovered they owed £1.9 billion to their gas company in just one morning.
Sam Mottram and Maddie Robertson were gobsmacked to learn they had racked up the hefty bill in only one minute.
However it was all due to a pricing error and a Shell Energy spokesperson explained the situation: "This was an error in our app that affected a small number of customers, and we don't expect Sam and Maddie to pay for the world's supply of gas. Any customers with the same app error can be assured that it won't have any impact on their direct debit payments."
