Brooklyn Beckham appears to take another dig at family with wedding anniversary decision

The bitter Beckham family feud has taken another turn as Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz marked their wedding anniversary.

Brooklyn Beckham, 31, has been estranged from his family for years but dropped a bombshell statement in January 2026, in which he claimed his parents had 'controlled' his life and attempted to 'ruin' his relationship with Nicola Peltz, 27.

The couple officially tied the knot in April 2022 in front of their families and 500 guests, but Brooklyn would later claim his mother, Victoria Beckham, 52, 'danced very inappropriately' on him' after she had allegedly 'hijacked' the couple's first dance.

As a result, they renewed their vows in a secret ceremony in 2025, with none of the other Beckhams invited, and it was that date Brooklyn and Nicola opted to celebrate on Wednesday, August 5, rather than their initial wedding.

Brooklyn had posted on Instagram to mark their first wedding anniversary every year since 2022, but skipped it this year in what appears to be yet another dig at his parents.

Instead, he posted two photos of his wife on social media on Wednesday and wrote in the caption: "Happy anniversary Nicola I can’t tell you how much I love you x

"You are my best friend and I love you more than life itself xx I am so lucky to be able to call you my wife xx.

"You are my absolute princess and I promise to always protect you xx "

Nicola, meanwhile, has previously never marked their official wedding anniversary on social media but did make a post in honour of her husband on Wednesday, writing on Instagram: "Happy anniversary my love," with a sparkling love heart emoji.

She added: "You make life so beautiful. thank you for being the most amazing husband i could ever dream of."

'This is the date they will celebrate publicly together'

The couple reportedly don't have positive memories of their actual wedding and now want to celebrate their vow renewal ceremony as their anniversary going forward.

A source told The Sun: “Brooklyn and Nicola’s first wedding in April 2022 is not an occasion they look back on fondly.

“Nicola ended up in tears. It’s not something they want to be reminded of.

“Their second wedding, where they renewed their vows last August with just her family and their friends, does hold so many happy memories however.

“Going forwards, they’ve decided that this is the date they will celebrate publicly together.”

Speaking in his statement in January, Brooklyn said he and Nicola look back on their first wedding as an 'embarrassment'.

Referencing Victoria's alleged dance, he said: “I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.

"We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness.”

Brooklyn and Nicola don't believe it's a 'pointed' dig at the Beckhams

The lack of acknowledgement of the Beckham clan appears to be yet another veiled jab from Brooklyn to his family after a series of DoorDash ads he took part in during the World Cup.

The first of which was branded as 'tasteless', with a PR expert urging Brooklyn to drop the Beckham name if he wants to move on from his family.

However, the The Sun's source added that the couple don't think their anniversary decision is 'pointed' but rather just a genuine reflection of their feelings.

“Their second wedding last year was beautiful and couldn’t have been more perfect," the source said.

“For them, this is the moment they want to celebrate.

“It’s why Nicola chose to post about it too. It’s the first time she’s wanted to publicly celebrate her wedding to Brooklyn.

“They don’t think it feels pointed, it’s just honest.”

The Sun has previously reported that the Beckhams were 'blindsided' by the second wedding, quoting a source who said they felt it was 'cruel and spiteful' and the 'last kick in the teeth for David and Victoria.'

Brooklyn's blistering statement against his family came five months after he renewed his vows with Nicola.

April 2022: Brooklyn and Nicola tie the knot

On 9 April 2022, Brooklyn and Nicola got married in a lavish ceremony in front of 500 guests at her family's estate in Palm Beach, Florida, two years after getting engaged.

Aug 2022: The first reports of a feud between Nicola and Victoria Beckham

Just months after the wedding, media sources were starting to report on a 'full-on cold war' between Nicola and her new mum-in-law.

According to Page Six, 'the build-up to the wedding was horrendous' and they 'can’t stand each other and don’t talk'.

Reports also claimed much of the feud came from Nicola's decision to wear a Valentino wedding dress instead of a piece designed by Victoria's fashion house, but they appeared to quash these rumours.

March 2023: The Beckhams play happy families

In March 2023, the Beckhams seemed to be happier than ever and were posing for photos at Victoria's Paris fashion show.

April 2025: The family rift resurfaces

Two years on, it was reported that Brooklyn and Nicola had snubbed David's 50th birthday party at Cipriani Downtown Miami.

And then, just days later, TMZ claimed that Brooklyn and brother Romeo weren't speaking due to a fallout over Romeo's girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, who had a 'romantic connection' with Brooklyn 'several years ago'.

Cruz later insisted that Brooklyn and Kim had never actually dated, and in May of 2025, Brooklyn and Nicola were nowhere to be seen as the birthday celebrations for David continued.

July 2025: Mass unfollowing on social media

In July 2025, Brooklyn and Nicola unfollowed Romeo and Cruz and vice versa.

August 2025: David and Victoria miss vow renewals

The following month, David and Victoria are reported not to have attended the Peltz-Beckham vow renewals.

And by December that year, it was reported that Brooklyn no longer followed his parents, and they no longer followed him, and the youngest brother was quick to set the record straight.

Dec 2025: Cruz speaks out

Cruz wrote on his Instagram Stories about the claims that he and his family had unfollowed Brooklyn: "NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son … Let's get the facts right. They woke up blocked … as did I."

Jan 2026: Brooklyn takes legal action

In January 2026, it was claimed that Brooklyn sent a legal letter to his parents, insisting they only contact him via his lawyer; a rule which Victoria is believed to have broken when she 'liked' an Instagram post he made about a roast chicken.

Jan 2026: Brooklyn breaks silence on family feud

In a shock statement posted on his Instagram Stories on 19 January, Brooklyn made some bombshell claims about his family, which included how his parents have tried to 'ruin' his relationship with Nicola, have always 'controlled' his life, and how 'Brand Beckham' comes first before anything else.

March 2026: David reaches out to Brooklyn

David shared a post to celebrate Brooklyn’s birthday, writing: "27 Today. Happy Birthday Bust. We love you."

He shared an old photo of Brooklyn as a child and tagged Victoria, but was unable to tag Brooklyn since his son has blocked him.

The post was met with stony silence from Brooklyn.

June 2026: Harper turns up at Brooklyn’s door

Harper, Brooklyn’s 14-year-old sister and the Beckhams’ youngest child, was photographed outside Brooklyn’s door hand-delivering a letter. Brooklyn and Nicola were believed to be in New York at the time.

A rep for the Peltz-Beckhams savagely responded: "That photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all - this was choreographed for the cameras."

Meanwhile, Brooklyn releases a DoorDash World Cup ad clearly taking a swipe at his family. He says in the commercial: “You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home. It’s a long story."
