Nikki Glaser has revealed in the past the one celebrity she is too scared to roast.

Glaser is returning to host the Golden Globes tonight, January 11, and is well known for her absolutely brutal jokes.

Whether it be poking fun at Alec Baldwin after admitting he’d considered suicide in his book or slamming Tom Brady’s divorce in his Comedy Central roast so hard that he later said he regretted it, Glaser is well known for not holding back on celebrities.

Glaser is returning to the Globes after hosting last year, receiving plaudits for her cutting humour.

Ricky Gervais was similarly well known in the past for his brutal jokes whilst hosting at the expense of famous faces, even recently revealing a Golden Globes joke about Jason Momoa he ‘bottled’ in his recent Netflix stand up special.

Glaser meanwhile has similarly spoken about her reticence to make jokes about one celeb, something that may even come up in tonight’s ceremony considering she is presenting an award.

The comedian appeared on CBS Mornings earlier this week and revealed that ahead of this year’s ceremony, she had trialled some stand-up routine bits about famous faces to see how people react.

The one person crowds would not stand for jokes about? Julia Roberts.

She told the morning show: “I'm trying out my monologue around LA at the clubs here and just even any joke about Julia Roberts, they are not there for.

“You cannot make fun of America's sweetheart… whatever I end up saying about her, that is the most fine-tuned joke that I've worked on so hard, because it is very delicate.

“I mean, they were booing, and I was like, ‘Is she here?’ It’s insane.”

Roberts was confirmed to be on the list of presenters alongside Charli XCX, George Clooney, the lead actors from Heated Rivalry, and even Snoop Dogg.

All in all it sounds like, if you hear any jokes about Roberts at the show, Glaser is secretly bricking it.

The show is set to be a star-studded affair with the Golden Globes widely considered to be the first step on the road to the Oscars.

Whilst The Golden Globes are not always considered a clear indicator of who will win at the Oscars due to lack of overlap, the winner of Best Actor and Best Actress can be a good sign of momentum in the road to the Oscars.

Julia Roberts is a nominee for After the Hunt in the drama category, but Jessie Buckley is considered the frontrunner for her starring performance in Hamnet.

On the men’s side of things, the stand-out name in the is Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, though Michael B Jordan is expected to compete with him due in part to the pair benefiting from Leonardo Di Caprio’s One Battle after Another and Timothee Chalamet’s Marty Supreme bizarrely being listed as ‘comedies’.

Add in the fact that there are huge names nominated for other awards such as Ariana Grande, Emma Stone, Cynthia Erivo, Paul Mescal, and Adam Sandler, Nikki Glaser will have a lot of options to choose from for her jokes.
