It sounds like Jack Nicholson is enjoying his retirement after his friend and fellow actor Michael Douglas said he'd 'disappeared' and lamented that they wouldn't appear together in something.
The last time Nicholson, 89, acted in a project was for the 2010 movie How Do You Know alongside Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson and Paul Rudd, and for the past 16 years he's not appeared in anything else.
Back in 2013 the celebrity told The Sun that at the age of 76 he didn't have the same desire to 'be out there any more', telling them 'the movie business is the greatest business but I only want to do films that move people, films about emotions and people'.
Last time he made a public appearance on screens was at the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live last year, where he introduced Adam Sandler to the stage.

It sounds like there's not going to be any more projects for the actor, as Douglas, 82, said he still sees him but told people they wouldn't get the chance to work together during an event promoting his memoir One Helluva Ride.

According to the Daily Mail, Douglas said: "I would have liked to have acted with Jack. He’s not working anymore. He’s well. He has disappeared. I know that.
"I still see him, but he is fine. He is up there by his house and walking around in his slippers. It happens. He deserves it. I understand. He is a few years older than me, but I understand."
The closest their careers have come is Douglas working as a producer on the movie One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, which Nicholson won the first of his three Oscars for.
They never got to act together on screen and with Nicholson sounding like he's retired and preferring to live the rest of his life without having to show up for a movie set that would appear to close the book on his acting career.
Nicholson had been set to appear in an American remake of the 2016 movie Toni Erdmann to appear alongside Kristen Wiig, but the project fell apart in August 2018 and he withdrew from the movie.

Every acting career ends at some point, and Jack Nicholson's lasted longer than most.
Considering he's well into his 80s it's understandable that he reckons he's done his job and it's time to spend his remaining years living in some of the luxury a career as a high profile actor presumably buys you.
He's not the only one to dim the lights on a glittering career and step off the stage for the final time, as his Blood and Wine co-star Michael Caine is another veteran actor who made it clear he was done after his 2023 movie The Great Escaper.
That being said he did return briefly to be the narrator for the short film Bobby this year so he didn't entirely reject everything that's come his way, but it's the only project he's been attached to.
There's no business like show business, but everyone deserves a retirement at some point.
