Emily Ratajkowski has declared her support for Amber Heard while saying it’s ‘scarier to be a woman’ in 2022.

The Aquaman actor has faced intense public scrutiny following the loss of her defamation lawsuit against ex-husband Johnny Depp.

As the jury were in favour of Depp, the actor was awarded $15 million ($AUD 20 million, £12 million) in damages, which Heard will have to pay.

However, Ratajkowski has taken to TikTok to reveal her thoughts on the matter.

Over the weekend, the American fashion model posted a video with the caption: “Its 2022 and it's getting even SCARIER to be a woman.”

In the video, Ratajkowski lip syncs and writes in the text description: “I’m not scared of lions, tigers and bears, but I’m scared of...

“Roe v. Wade getting overturned, Harvey getting an appeal, Shia's Redemption Tour, the way y'all dragged Amber and the precedent that court case set.”

Many users praised the model for showing public support as one user wrote: “The Amber part yes! This trial sent us back 500 years.”

Another user said: “Thank you for not being scared to stand by Amber #justiceforamberheard.”

While a third commented: “Emphasis on the Amber part. [It was] scary how much people wanted to prove a woman wrong.”

Most recently, Depp made a surprise appearance at the 2022 VMAs.

During the awards ceremony, MTV’s famous astronaut mascot dangled above the crowd, which showed a prerecorded video from Depp beaming onto the Moon man’s face.

"I just want you guys to know that I'm available for birthdays, bar-mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, weddings, wakes...anything old thing you need," he said in the video.

Since winning his lawsuit, Depp has been slowly making his way back into the spotlight as he’ll join Jeff Beck on the North American leg of his tour next month and appear in the upcoming film La Favourite.

However, Depp’s legal woes are far from over, as Heard has officially filed an appeal against her ex-husband.

The Aquaman star has recruited lawyers David L. Axelrod and Jay Ward Brown to represent her as she attempts to have the court rescind the ruling, as per Entertainment Weekly.

Following the announcement of an appeal, a spokesperson for Heard said: "When it comes to protecting the fundamental right of Freedom of Speech, we look at the jury's decision — to paraphrase a famous quote — not 'as the beginning of the end, but merely the end of the beginning’.

"A different court warrants different representation, particularly as so much new evidence is now coming to light."
