So, another bank holiday is upon us and if you plan on spending tonight drinking, there's a good chance you'll be in the horrors tomorrow and fancy spending as much time as possible in bed, ordering takeaway and watching Netflix.

If you're at a bit of a loss as to what you'll be able to watch, while you're lying there regretting your life choices, then don't worry - Netflix has got you, with all four of the Shrek movies now available on the streaming site.

Can you think of a more enjoyable way to spend six hours and nine minutes? Nope, didn't think so.

Relive some of the best movie moments and funniest one-liners of your childhood by catching up with Shrek, Donkey, Fiona and Puss for the ultimate binge-watch, way before he featured in about two million memes and was just an innocent animated ogre voiced by Mike Myers. A simpler time.

Start off where it all began, back in 2001, with Shrek, before checking out the imaginatively named Shrek 2 (2004), going on to Shrek the Third (2007) and ending your marathon with Shrek Forever After (2010).

If that still isn't enough to satiate your animated-ogre hunger, then you can also gorge on an entire season of Shrek Stories, Puss in Boots and six whole seasons of The Adventures of Puss in Boots, you jammy buggers.

At this point, you probably should leave the house, go out, get some fresh air, let your family know you're OK etc, but until then fill your boots.

Once you're all caught up on the life and times of Shrek, you might be pleased to hear that just last year, screenwriter Michael McCullers told The Hollywood Reporter that a fifth instalment is in the works.

"Shrek Five is being developed," he said. "I finished that script, which I really, really, really love.

"It's really personal to me. It's got a pretty big reinvention behind it that I guess I can't reveal.

"Since DreamWorks was sold to Universal in that time for over $3billion [£2.4bn], I imagine they're particularly interested in it stepping up.

"And actually figuring out the future of the franchise in that way on the corporate level.

"Reinvention was sort of called for. There's been four movies and a lot of material, so the characters are pretty beloved and they're great characters, but you also have to think of a pretty new take at that point."

All together now, 'somebody once told me...'
