Top Boy fans are flooding to social media in excitement after spotting 'Sully' in a new Netflix trailer.

Kano, who played Sully in Top Boy, is back from - well, I won't spoil it if you haven't caught up with season two.

Basically, the actor - full name Kane Brett Robinson - has been spotted in the trailer for a new Netflix drama and fans are thrilled. Prepare to have something to look forward to after Christmas:

The dystopian thriller - titled The Kitchen - is directed by Kibwe Tavares, known for 2013 short Jonah, and Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya and was written by Rob Hayes, Daniel Kaluuya and Joe Murtagh.

The Killer's Michael Fassbender lent his hand to producing the drama, alongside David Kimbangi, Ollie Madden, Conor McCaughan, Daniel Emmerson and Daniel Kaluuya.

And the film, of course, stars Kano, as well as newcomer Jedaiah Bannerman. Top Boy's Hope Ikpoku Jnr, Teija Kabs, Demmy Ladipo who starred in Dreaming Whilst Black, Cristale, and rapper BackRoad Gee are also included in the main cast, as per What's On Netflix.

Guess who's back.

The film's official Netflix synopsis reads: "In a dystopian London, the gap between rich and poor has been stretched to its limits."

And fans are flooding to Netflix's post of the movie's trailer on X - formerly known as Twitter - in excitement, many thrilled to see Kano back on screen and in another drama set in London too.

One user wrote: "Directed by daniel kaluuya here are four words that I would like to hear every day."

"My boy from Top Boy Kano. Imma def check this out," another added.

A third commented: "KANO!!!!!!!!!" and a fourth resolved: "Great to see Sully again."

Top Boy fans are excited to see Kano back on screen in another drama set in London.

Kaluuya first announced the movie in a post to Instagram last year in March.

The post shows the front cover of The Kitchen's script and the caption reads: "This one has been eight years in the making with director @kibwetavares and producer Dan Emmerson, started from a conversation in a barbershop when I found out kids were doing million pound heists in a minute for £200 to a dystopian London in the future.

"Production just started on The Kitchen. Proud to be co-writing (w/ @_joemurtagh_ ) and producing on this one through my production company 59 percent alongside DMC Film, Film 4 & @netflixuk @netflixfilm."

The Kitchen first premiered at the BFI London Film Festival earlier this year in October.

Festival Director Kristy Matheson reflected on the film at the premiere, as quoted by What's On Netflix: "Kibwe Tavares & Daniel Kaluuya have made a film that totally explodes our expectations of contemporary UK cinema. The Kitchen offers such scope for audiences – the essential social politics and high-octane energy gel perfectly to create an electrifying big screen experience. We could not be more excited to close the festival with this inventive film set in a near future London that showcases this incredibly talented team who call this city home."

The Kitchen is currently set for release on Netflix on 19 January, 2024.
