Heardle users have called today’s game on 9th March a ‘gateway drug’.

Players of the viral daily music game, which was created as ‘a respectful homage to Wordle with a musical twist’, have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on Heardle 12 on 9th March 2022 - and it’s safe to say that players are well and truly hooked!

Warning: Heardle 12 spoilers ahead.

One user wrote of the game, among other similar daily games like Quordle: “Woot. Time to do dordle, quordle, heardle, and octordle. Gateway drug [sic]”.

Another user said the game was “way better than NYT Wordle”.

Thom, who managed to guess today’s song, which was Ms. Jackson by Outkast, on the third try wrote: “Pretty proud of that one... 4 seconds.”

“I’m so proud of myself,” echoed another for decoding the song of the day within the first go.

Another player, Brian, managed to guess today’s Heardle in his first try and simply said: “Boom!”

“Heardle is just sliding it’s way into my daily routine,” @freyjsmith admitted of the game.

The new game, aptly named Heardle, sees players decoding the artist and song name to a musical intro in as few tries as possible - and fans are loving it.

“Each Heardle is semi-randomly plucked from a long list of popularly streamed artists. Much love, and all relevant copyright, to those featured,” the game’s creators explained on the site.

They added: “Heardle was made for a small group of friends, then somehow gained millions of players overnight. Please be kind.”
