Sean Combs has gone through a few different names during his time in the world of music - many know him as 'P Diddy' or just 'Diddy', though he's also gone by the moniker 'Puff Daddy' from time to time.
These days he's also referred to as 'the defendant', as he's on trial for numerous charges including sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering, all of which he has denied.

He's also gone under the alias 'Frank Black', according to a witness at his trial who claimed that Combs used that name to 'protect' his public image from the 'freak offs' he would hold in hotel rooms.
'Puff Daddy' was his first nickname, and according to the man himself the reason why he chose that was because he used to have the nickname 'puff' as a kid.

The rapper previously explained that he would 'huff and puff' when he got angry in his younger days and it resulted in him getting a childhood nickname which he later adapted into his stage name.
He later changed his stage name to P Diddy, claiming he got the idea from fellow rapper Notorious B.I.G. and that's since become just 'Diddy' for most people.

As for how the trial of Sean Combs is going, a woman going by the name of 'Mia' is set to have her third day on the witness stand today (2 June). She has said she was Combs' personal assistant for several years and alleged that he sexually assaulted her several times.
A male escort who goes by the name 'The Punisher' made claims about the graphic details of the 'freak offs', and rapper Kid Cudi took to the stand to claim that Diddy set his car on fire and when they met afterwards to discuss it, Combs denied any knowledge of the incident.

The fellow rapper, real name Scott Mescudi, told the court that police found the remains of a Molotov cocktail in the car which was 'kind of just burnt up', with the Porsche beyond repair.
Also having taken the stand during the trial is Diddy's ex-partner Cassie Ventura, who spoke about the abuse she alleges Diddy used against her.

The courtroom has been shown text messages sent between the two of them and after her time on the witness stand Ventura said: "This week has been extremely challenging, but also remarkably empowering and healing for me.
"I hope that my testimony has given strength and a voice to other survivors, and can help others who have suffered to speak up and also heal from abuse and fear.
"For me, the more I heal, the more I can remember. And the more I can remember, the more I will never forget."
The trial continues.
