Amy Bradley doc viewer reveals biggest misunderstanding about case as they debunk major theories

An Amy Bradley documentary viewer has taken to TikTok to dispel and debunk one of the biggest theories regarding her disappearance.

Amy Bradley disappeared from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship 27 years ago, and the mystery surrounding this was the focus of a brand-new Netflix documentary.

Amy Bradley is Missing came out two weeks ago, and with it came a renewed interest in the cruise ship disappearance of the 23-year-old.

Though Amy was declared legally dead the year after she disappeared in 1999, per court documents, her family have maintained to this day that Amy is still alive.

The documentary showed many possible theories that support this, most notably that she was trafficked off the boat somehow and is being held against her will in Curaçao, but many disagree with these theories.

One particular viewer of the doc has spoken out about this, and it’s hard to argue with their credentials on the matter.

Abby Smith posted on TikTok about the incident, citing their Criminology degree and extensive research specifically to crimes that take place on cruise ships.

This is due to Abby’s brave openness in speaking out as a victim of sexual assault on a Carnival Cruise Ship when she was just 16.

Due to this, Abby is particularly well placed to speak on the topic, though she acknowledged that there is no ‘one size fits all’ for cases such as these.

She stated that, due to trends in human trafficking for the victims to be extremely vulnerable people, the idea that Amy was disappeared by strangers in the night was ‘extremely unlikely’.

Abby also pointed to the fact that leaving her room quietly in a cruise ship in which doors tend to be quite loud to open was ‘unlikely’.

According to Abby, falling overboard is far more deadly than many realise, as she said out that 70% of people seen going over the side of cruise ships are never recovered, and if Amy fell, it would have been with no one seeing her.

Abby finally points to her frustration that the case is leading to people misunderstanding trafficking and the fears it will stoke among women as a result.

A number of people on TikTok commented agreeing with her, stating their agreement that Amy having fallen overboard is the most likely outcome.

One comment read: “Everything is a conspiracy theory if you don’t understand how things work.”

Another said: “She was a strong swimmer!’ Yeah that makes no difference when you in the blink of an eye can be sucked under that ship into god knows what and shredded to pieces.”

A third read: “Thank you for this, i’m getting so frustrated with everyone. nobody actually knows how trafficking works.”
