The first glimpse of Tom Hardy in season two of MobLand has been released – just weeks after his future on the show was in doubt.
Hardy's future on the popular Paramount+ series was in doubt after reports suggested the Peaky Blinders star had been axed from a planned third season of the show, following claims that he was regularly late to set.
However, producers appear to have since u-turned on the alleged firing, with Hardy now reported to be welcomed back into his role of fixer Harry Da Souza once again.
While the third season is still in very early stages of production, MobLand fans can rejoice in the fact that they will be seeing the Harrigans on screen again before the end of the year, as Paramount+ has confirmed a release date for season two.

According to a network update, season two of MobLand will premiere globally on 18 September.
The new series will be 10 episodes long and see the Harrigans battle to maintain their criminal empire in the face of rising rivals. Meanwhile, Harry, a close ally of the Harrigans, will be forced to walk a 'dangerous tightrope' as tensions within the family intensify.
"As violence spills into every corner of their lives, loyalties snap, safety proves temporary, and the battle for power leaves no room for mercy," the series logline adds.
Several first-look images from the new episodes have also been released, showing Hardy as well as costars Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren (who play patriarch Conrad Harrigan and his wife Maeve respectively), as well as Paddy Considine Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Teddie Allen, Emmett J. Scanlan, Johnny Flynn, Ophelia Lovibond, Janet McTeer, and Toby Jones.

We've also been treated to a trailer teasing what's next for Harry and the Harrigan clan, and it's packed to the brim with violence, explosions and dodgy dealings – just what you'd expect from a show named MobLand.
Despite winning their civil war with the Stevenson family, the Harrigans face a potential 'civil war' within their own ranks while Harry, who ended season one being stabbed by his wife Jan (Froggatt), is back to his old tricks once again.

What happened to Tom Hardy on MobLand?
Last month, Hardy's future on MobLand beyond season two appeared very much in doubt after Puck News claimed he'd been showing up late to set and being difficult to work with as well as attempting to change dialogue. Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter claimed the 48-year-old's decision to refuse to leave his trailer for hours at a time had been 'career suicide'.
These reports were later disputed, with Deadline later confirming that Hardy will very much be back for a third outing of the show, following a high-stakes meeting between the actor, writer Jez Butterworth and series executive producer David Glasser.
Mirren also rubbished reports that she'd been feuding with Hardy on set, sharing support for the actor on Instagram after the initial reports broke.

Posting an image of Hardy on her Instagram story, she wrote: "Things I love: 1. Christmas for obvious reasons. 2. Tom Hardy for his brilliance onscreen, his dedication off screen, his good heart and especially the HardyHugs I get when onset with him which is not nearly enough in my opinion. Things I hate: 1. Swede (the vegetable). 2. Bad journalism."
Her support for the actor came after a source suggested to MailOnline that she'd been annoyed by Hardy's poor time-keeping.
"He can be late to filming and that is annoying for Dame Helen, who is extremely professional and disciplined," the source claimed.
"She expects better. She holds people to a high standard. She’s 80. She’s been there and seen it all."
The source then went on to claim that behind-the-scenes crew had picked up- on the vibe, adding: "The behind-the-scenes crew watch it all and believe that she no longer looks as happy working on scenes with him. It has all become quite personal between them.

"It’s a fantastic show and everyone loves working on it. It’s such a shame there is this undertone."
Thankfully it would appear that all is well after all.
Season two of MobLand premieres on 18 September.
