The fourth season of Netflix's hit murder-thriller You finally has a release date, and it's set to hit our screens very soon.

It's set to be one heck of a ride too, after season three saw Joe Goldberg continue his murderous antics by killing not only Love (Victoria Pedretti), but leaving behind their baby and faking his own death by baking his toe into a pie. Take a look at the first trailer:

While we were still having a nightmares about that toe pie, Joe (Penn Badgley), who changed his name to Nick, decided to travel to Paris to start over, as revealed at the end of the last season.

However, it's been confirmed that the majority of season four will actually be set in London with only a brief stop in the French capital. The first part arrives on February 10th 2023, and the second on March 10th.

At least part of the upcoming season was filmed at Royal Holloway, University of London, and in the trailer above, Joe introduces himself as a lecturer, revealing that he's 'gone through a bit of refinement since crossing the pond'.

In a nutshell, it looks like he is his extensive knowledge of literature again (we doubt he'd be allowed to teach his other interests).

"Living in London has allowed me to bury the past, if you will," Joe says. "I'm focusing on academia and instruction, while keeping my typical extra curricular activities strictly professional.

"One must make time to exchange ideas with likeminded colleagues. Unfortunately, with friends in high places, there usually come others attempting to climb that social latter."

However, it looks like he's far from a changed man, and he talks about these 'others falling to their social death', before correcting himself to say he means 'pushed'.

He then adds: "The question is, by whom?"

Netflix

Badgley, 35, said of the upcoming season to Entertainment Tonight: "The tone is similar but it's shifting in that there is a different format. We're using a different format.

"It's almost like we're shifting the genre slightly. And I think it works."

The actor added that while Joe might be in Europe in this season, he is not the only returning character, and Marianne (Tati Gabrielle) from season three also will be making a return.

"There's also some other familiar faces which I think I can [say]," he added.

The actor said that while the character's location has changed and he is trying to, he is still 'failing' - as is strongly implied in the trailer too.

"He is always trying - failing trying," Badgley explained.
