A flight attendant has explained why you need to pick your seat wisely if you want to join the 'mile high club'.

Air hostess turned social media star Cierra Mistt has millions of followers who tune in to learn about what really happens on a plane.

She sheds out some pretty useful information from how you can get a free first class ticket, to why she lathers herself in sunscreen when flying.

"We do this because we fly around in a metal tube at 30,000 feet very single day and that's really close to the ozone layer," she said of the latter.

"In fact we are so exposed to radiation that health insurance will label us the same as astronauts or a radiologist."

Amongst her insight and tips, Cierra has also revealed what seat you need to pick if you want to get in on the 'mile high club'.

"First, pick your sear accordingly, aka either right next to the restroom or in the very back room." she said.

"I say this because once we're up in the air and we complete our service of drinks and snacks, normally flight attendants either hang out in one area with each other in the front or the back, or the crew restrooms.

"While it's mandatory for us to do walk-throughs to make sure everything's going smooth, we only have to them really every 20 to 30 minutes.

I think most men will be delighted with that one.

But Cierra isn't the only one to have revealed her insight as former flight attendant Marika Mikusova - who has worked for a luxury airline for five years - also opened up on the 'safest place' to join the 'mile-high club'.

"The lavatories in economy class are by far the 'safest' place to join the mile-high club," she writes in her book 'Diary of A Flight Attendant'.

"Economy class is so vast that you can barely see the end of it. And it has several lavatories.

"It's more practical to use a lavatory that has only one door.

Not the one in which the door has to 'fold' to give you enough room to even step inside.

"Us flight attendants, we like to sit and chat in the galleys.

"Plus, we dim the cabin lights after each service, so that's the perfect time for... well, you know. You're welcome, by the way."

It's worth mentioning that while it's technically not illegal to get it on in a plane toilet, there are some things you should be aware of.

Before you decide to add it to your to-do list there are some things to be wary of.

For example, it’s illegal to have sex in a public toilet area, which would be something you’d be breaking if having sex up in the plane loo, according to section 71 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

If the act is proven it could land you a hefty £1,000 fine or even up to six months locked up.

So, it's probably not worth risking.
