Before you get your rocks off with a sexual partner, there are three things to carefully avoid.
According to Philadelphia-based doctor Jen Caudle, who regularly weighs in on pubic hair cleanliness and masturbation, taking particular medication can induce unwanted dryness.
This painful issue of biomechanics would completely stop you in your tracks, right? Sex is only successful when built on a foundation of lubrication - that's where the importance of foreplay comes from.
So what did Caudle have to say exactly? Posting an explainer video on Instagram, she urged viewers: "Don't take an antihistamine before sex - things like Benadryl, Diphenhydramine, etcetera, why? Because they can actually dry up vaginal secretions.

"That's right, we need lubrication and moisture for sex. It certainly helps it, right? And actually, antihistamines can contribute to drying vaginal secretions. It can cause dryness in other places of your body aswell, but it can down there."
Her second of three warnings took the form of shaving right before jumping into bed with someone.
Not just shaving anywhere on your body, though, particularly down south in your private area.
"Don't shave [your pubes] right before sex!" said Caudle. "Your skin could be chaffed, chapped, irritated, and the friction of sex could make that even worse. So just get a little bit of time in between shaving and sexual activity."
And finally, and probably most obviously, those about to engage in copulation shouldn't be tipping the booze scale.
Why? Well, it's to do with erections, mostly.
"I would not overdo it with the alcohol," warned the doctor. "We always recommend alcohol only in moderation anyway, but you know, sometimes alcohol can help you get in the mood.
"For men and women, totally fine; the thing about it is, too much alcohol in particular for men could impede your performance. Just try to avoid over-drinking, over-indulging, which is something we want to do in our daily lives anyway."

So there you have it: if you're after some spicy time under the sheets, it's vital to remember (even if you can't stop sneezing because of your hay fever) not to take any pills to counteract allergies.
We get it, tidying up or grooming the pubic region right before getting down to business is a thoughtful endeavour, but don't go right down to the skin. If you do, you'll face some serious uncomfortability.
To all you boozers out there... your limit could be three pints before the dream is over.
