How to increase your chances of securing Glastonbury tickets today

As the mad rush for tickets begins tonight, here's how you can increase your chances of nabbing one

Glastonbury is by far the biggest music event in the UK calendar, so it'll come as no surprise that tickets are pretty hard to come by.

The demand for tickets is incredibly high — last year, 2.5 million people tried to get their hands on the festival's 135,000 tickets, according to National Broadband.

And, the annual mad scramble is almost upon us as the first tickets to the iconic event, which will take place from 26 to 30 June next year, go on sale tonight, with millions currently registered to apply.

To the uninitiated, getting Glasto tickets can feel like a bit of a lottery, but there are some things you can do to increase your chances.

Firstly, if you haven't registered yet, don't bother trying (for now, at least). Only those who have already registered on the Glastonbury website will be able to purchase tickets this week.

There will be another opportunity to get tickets during the resale dates in April 2024, providing you register before then.

If you and your mates are all registered, hop on glastonbury.seetickets.com to try your luck. No other site will have tickets, so if you see anyone else touting them, it's probably a scam.

You can buy up to six tickets and must have all members of your group's registration numbers and postcodes to make the purchase.

As for maximising your chances of nabbing an elusive spot at Worthy Farm, you have to be ready and raring to go. Here's a few things you can do.

To start, make sure you have good internet connection. You won't stand a chance without solid broadband. Consider using a wired connection for added reliability.

Before tickets go on sale, take some time to get prepared.

Familiarise yourself with the Glastonbury website and ticketing platform; know exactly where to find the ticket purchase page.

And, get everything you'll need ready in advance so that your time on the booking page is a breeze — think sufficient funds in your account, up-to-date payment details, your groups registration numbers, etc.

Obviously, the only way to be in the race is by being on time, so set an alarm, leaving yourself enough time to set everything up.

If possible, use multiple devices — smartphone, iPad, laptop, etc. Having multiple devices ready can increase your chances of securing tickets.

And, most importantly, don't give up.

Glasto ticket sales can be a hectic and stressful experience. Don't be discouraged by long queues and delays. Stay calm, be patient and refresh the page as necessary. Until you see the ominous 'SOLD OUT' display on the site, there is still a chance.

Tickets including coach travel go on sale tonight (2 November) at 6pm and general admission tickets go on sale at 9am on Sunday (5 November).

Best of luck out there!
