Khaby Lame tells fans to not give up their dreams as he shows how far he's come

From the construction site to having your face on a Hugo Boss billboard is quite the glow-up.

TIkTok star Khaby Lame has shared a video of what he used to do for work in the past compared with now, and hoo boy, what a glow-up.

TikTok's most-followed influencer on the popular app shared clips of himself labouring on a construction site and truck driving.

But if we fast forward his life a bit, we'll find him standing underneath one of the billboards for his Hugo Boss fashion campaign.

So dreams can come true. All you need is your phone to take a few videos.

"Never stop growing and always believe in your dreams," he wrote with the videos he posted to both TikTok and Twitter.

His followers flooded the comments section with congratulations and praise for the humble Senegalese-Italian lad.

One user said: "Proud of you man."

A second added: "[This] dude actually just took over this app without saying a single word."

A third chipped in with: "Crazy how life can change. Rooting for you."

Lame, 22, turned to TikTok after he lost his job during the coronavirus pandemic.

His silent videos mock viral content with an exasperated expression.

Despite not saying a single word, he's been able to speak to millions around the world.

He now has 148.7 million followers.

His viral fame has since shot him to superstardom.

In April 2021, he surpassed Gianluca Vacchi as the most-followed Italian TikToker, and, earlier this year, he surpassed Charli D'Amelio to become the most-followed person on the app.

He has attended the Venice Film Festival in 2021 and he was a guest of the Cannes Film Festival in May this year.

In January 2022, Lame signed a multi-year partnership with Hugo Boss and was featured in the #BeYourOwnBoss campaign.

Not bad for someone who was unemployed only a few short years ago.

Hugo Boss described the Italian-based TikTokker as 'more than just another social media star', adding that he 'represents true Boss values'.

"Breaking the rules to create his own success, the impactful creator has become the most followed person on TikTok by boldly expressing himself, inspiring others, challenging the status quo - and doing it all with humour and self-awareness," Hugo Boss representatives said, as per Fashion Network.

They added: "Khaby is undoubtedly the new Boss in town."

He was recently given Italian citizenship after he had lived in the country since he was one.

Lame – who said he ‘always felt Italian’ – was awarded his citizenship during a ceremony in his hometown of Chivasso.

Speaking to reporters at the time, Lame said he was ‘very proud’ and ‘feels a great responsibility for the oath I took’.
