When you get hitched, it's a beautiful, fun and exciting event that will no doubt leave the bride and groom exhausted from chatting to loved ones, dancing, and performing all the wedding duties.

While most couples will say there's little time to relax at their own wedding, one bloke found the time to enjoy his passion.

The groom known as Blake propped up a phone below the wedding cake to discreetly watch the footy while they were still at their reception.

His bride, Dani, looked very unimpressed as her husband seemed more interested in cheering on his favourite team.

The bride shared the clip on TikTok, where it's been viewed nearly seven million times and has sparked a lively debate.

Dani captioned the clip as 'I still can't believe my husband did this at our wedding..' and loads of people agreed with her.

One viewer wrote: This is why I'm not dating someone obsessed with sports."

Another added: "I mean I don't mind my man watching this stuff but on the wedding seriously?"

A third said: "Not sure if my expectations are too high or not but that's a nope for me."

However, there were loads of people who stuck up for Blake, with one wife saying: "Mine did the same 49 years ago walking up the [aisle]. After being married he asked our brother in law how the Wolves were getting on."

Another footy fan added: "At least he is still in the room. My hubby went to the bar area with his dad to watch the footie on my wedding night".

In a funny followup video after their clip went viral, Blake laughed as he told Dani that many were hailing him a 'legend' for his secret footie viewing.

But Dani had the best response, telling him: "The next guy I marry won't be into football."

It's true that some people might not be as engaged in the wedding as others and there are loads of distractions that might pop up during the day.

One bloke went viral for revealing he checked his crypto account as his bride was walking down the aisle.

Taylor Loren posted a clip to TikTok showing her husband on their wedding day as he stood at the altar.

He was beaming from ear to ear and looked absolutely chuffed at the big day.

"Four years ago today I walked down the aisle to marry the love of my life," Taylor wrote. "It was one of the most important & emotional moments of our life - and my husband did the most romantic thing..."

But Taylor's video showed how the bloke whipped out his phone during the pinnacle wedding ceremony moment.

Taylor explained how she's still married to the love of her life and she included her husband in a followup video.

She asked him why he checked his phone and he replied: "Cause crypto never sleeps."
