In news that will perhaps give you some hope in what is arguably the dreariest month of the year, McDonald's has launched its January sales menu.

Kicking off yesterday (16 January), the two-week promotion will see a different discount applied to your favourite menu items each day.

So, for example, yesterday the fast food giant allowed customers to enjoy a core item such as its Big Mac for just £1.59.

Today, Micky D's is offering a decent 15% off with a £10 minimum spend - that's breakfast and lunch sorted, eh?

The rest of the week is as follows:

  • Wednesday, 18 January – Spend £15, save £5
  • Thursday, 19 January – £1.99 for a core Item
  • Friday, 20 January – 10% off with £10 minimum spend
  • Saturday, 21 January – £1.99 for a core Item
  • Sunday, 22 January – £1.99 for a core Item

You can expect information on next week's deals in the coming days.

The deals are only available through the McDonald's app.

It's worth pointing out that the offers are only available when you order through the McDonald's app.

But they are valid for both pick ups and deliveries, although delivery charges still apply.

Still, you can't argue with saving a bit of cash on your next hangover order.

What's more, it might be the perfect opportunity to try out some of the new menu additions, which include a spicy wrap and an extra option for vegans.

Fast food chains are always trying to figure out what people want to eat more of and McDonald's is no exception.

The company no doubt reckons these New Year menu changes will give people more of what they want.

First up, you've got the 'Spicy Sriracha Chicken One', consisting of a toasted wrap packed with chicken, lettuce, cucumber and onions with spicy sriracha sauce.

You'll need to be quick if you want to wrap your chops around one of these, however, as it's only sticking around until 14 February.

The Double McPlant is joining the menu.

Anyone planning on doing Veganuary while also still craving some comfort food in the cold air of winter is in luck too, as the Double McPlant burger is joining the menu.

The original McPlant burger was launched back in 2021, and now by popular demand McDonald's has doubled it up for people who want to chow down on a vegan friendly fast food option.

Whether you're up for trying one of these exciting new offerings or you're a traditional McChicken Nuggets and Quarter Pounder sort of person, it's worth making the most of the January sale while you still can.
