Brit Ranked 19,366th In World At Poker Wins £2.5 Million At Tournament

A British man ranked 19,366th in the world at poker has won a mega £2.5 million at a tournament in Las Vegas. Watch his interview below:

Before his card playing days, Jack Oliver was a financial analyst at Jaguar Land Rover - and now he's a multimillionaire.

The 26-year-old finished in third place in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the early hours of yesterday morning (17 November) as his girlfriend flew out to the states to cheer him on.

"I can't complain can I?" Jack said after his huge win.

"There's six thousand and something other people that didn't make it this far so what have I got to complain about?

"I think I played well and that's kind of all that matters really.

"That's all you can do in this game."

He added: "Of course it's going to change my life in some ways - it's a lot of money - but as much as it is about the money it's kind of not.

"I play poker for the love of the game and will continue to do so and hopefully play a lot more poker in the years to come."

The man from St Albans, Hertfordshire fell in love with poker at University, where he was studying Business Management.

Up until now, his total poker earnings stood at £87,000 - with one top prize of £20,000.

However, his latest earnings have smashed that number out of the park.

Jack made the final three with 77,300,000 chips, but was knocked out by American George Holmes.

He, in turn, lost to German Koray Aldemir, 31, who was the eventual winner.

The German won a whopping $8 million (£5.94 million) at the WSOP sponsored event by GGPoker.
