Woman Refuses To Wear Mask At Bakery 'Because Pants Don't Block Fart Smells'

A woman refused to wear a mask in a bakery because she said trousers don't stop the smell of farts so masks won't stop coronavirus.

Footage has been posted online showing the moment employees at a Panera Bread outlet in Chico, California, refused to serve a customer after she took exception to being asked to cover her face.

In the clip, the woman can be seen waiting in line and holding a mask she had been given by staff on entering the shop.

However, employees and fellow customers, all of whom were wearing masks, were unimpressed by her unwillingness to comply with the cafe's rules.

Filming the server behind the counter, the woman asked: "So you're not going to serve me because I'm not wearing a mask?"

To which the man behind her, named William See, said: "No, they're not going to serve you because you're not wearing a mask, that's exactly right."

He added: "Just put on a mask! You give such an aura. You selfish piece of s***, get out of here. You're so f***ing selfish."

Turning towards the man, while still holding her phone up to film, the woman then said: "Stop it, stop it!"

To which the man replied: "No, because you're putting all of us at risk!"

At this point, the woman then started blowing towards William and his mate, smirking as she walked towards the exit.

Shocked by what had just happened, William then said: "Oh, come on, come on. You child, grow the f*** up, lady."

Then, as she walked out of the coffee shop, the woman presented her logic for not wearing a face covering.

Pointing towards her backside, she said: "You think that mask is going to protect you? You fart off your ass, you can smell it out of your ass. You think that mask is going to protect you?"

The woman then left the store, as the man filming told her: "Just grow up, grow up and get out. Thank you!"

Employees called security who arrived after the woman left the store.

The wearing of protective masks is, to put it mildly, a fairly divisive issue, with some claiming they could help reduce the spread of coronavirus, while others say they make no difference at all and actually hinder people's breathing.

Earlier this month, a doctor in Bradford ran 22 miles to work and back while wearing a face mask to prove that it doesn't affect a person's oxygen levels.
