Christian Horner issues statement after alleged text messages get leaked following investigation

The Red Bull F1 boss has responded to the allegations

Christian Horner has released a statement responding to alleged leaked texts following his investigation of 'inappropriate behaviour'.

The statement is from Horner, and does not involve Red Bull racing.

The claims were first publicised on 5 February, when he was accused of 'coercive behaviour', facing allegations over his conduct towards a female employee.

“I won’t comment on anonymous speculation, but to reiterate, I have always denied the allegations,” Horner said in a statement read out to journalists by a team spokesman on behalf of him.

“I respected the integrity of the independent investigation and fully cooperated with it every step of the way,” Horner’s statement continued.

“It was a thorough and fair investigation conducted by an independent specialist barrister and it has concluded, dismissing the complaint made. I remain fully focused on the start of the season.”

This statement follows Red Bull's statement that was published yesterday (28 February) following an investigation.

The decision, which has come in the week preceding the 2024 F1 season opener on 2 March, means Horner could continue his responsibilities as Principal of Red Bull Racing.

"The independent investigation into the allegations made against Mr Horner is complete, and Red Bull can confirm that the grievance has been dismissed.

"The complainant has a right of appeal. Red Bull is confident that the investigation has been fair, rigorous and impartial." Red Bull Racing stated.

The Brit has won 13 world titles in his time as head of the team at Red Bull, initially starting as a 31-year-old in 2005.
