Olympic diver who left viewers not knowing where to look responds to viral comments about his outfit

Jules Bouyer left nothing to the imagination as he sported his tight swimming trunks

The Olympic diver that left viewers unsure of where to look after a photo of his did the rounds online, has responded to the comments about his manhood.

Jules Bouyer is a French diver competing at the Paris 2024 Olympics, and despite his impressive performances so far, he has gone viral for something quite different.

The 22-year-old made the men's synchronised three metre springboard final last week, managing a fifth place finish with teammate Alexis Jandard.

Bouyer qualified for the Olympics through his performance in the 2024 World Diving Championships in Doha, Qatar, where he came fifth overall, while he won silver in the 2023 European Games in his event, the three metre springboard, while also winning bronze in the synchronised event.

But prior to this, the sportsman did the rounds on social media after a photo of him in his extra-tight swimming trunks went around.

The image in question left people confused on where to look, and though you may blame it on the angle of the photo, or the tightness of the trunks, but, well, it's just there isn't it?

And people were quick to comment on the sight on X - with someone commenting that his Speedos were 'working overtime at this point', while another said: "The only reason I love the Olympics."

The 22-year-old today (8 August) finished eighth in the men's individual 3-metre springboard event, previously finishing fifth in the men's synchronised 3-metre springboard event, France's best ever result, again adorning the extremely skimpy costume.

Male divers wear this for good reason though, reducing splash and improving streamlining through the air as they make their way to the water.

Following the comments, Bouyer was quick to respond to the reaction, as he seemed like he wanted people to focus on his performance rather than the size of his, um, manhood.

He commented: "If some people find it amusing to look at my pants, that's their problem. It amused me,

"That said, we mustn't forget that it can take the athlete out of his bubble and that it can hurt.

"That wasn't the case for me. It was rather fun. I prefer people to look at my dives rather than my briefs, but there's nothing to worry about," he admitted.

The viral photo was originally posted by journalist David Mack, who wrote on X: "One academic topic in which i am extremely interested now is french diver jules bouyer. I find this subject very intellectually rewarding & intriguing. This subject is something I think many others would also enjoy studying."
