Apple set to release game-changing feature that will change the way you travel for good

All will be revealed at this afternoon's Apple conference

The way we travel could be about to change forever as Apple look set to release a number of new features at this afternoon's conference in the US.

Apple look likely to dramatically change the look of its iPhone software as part of the significant live event in California, with as many as six new features reportedly expected to be announced.

Although the billionaire tech company was hit hard by Donald Trump's tariffs, which could also see any new iPhone products skyrocket in price, it seemingly hasn't changed Apple's plans to revolutionise things for its current users.

Major app makeover

The first upgrade likely to be confirmed is a new makeover for the apps on our iPhones, which have remained the same since they were initially revamped 12 years ago when iOS 7 was first released.

According to Bloomberg, the company will move to a new look based on Apple Vision Pro 'spatial computing' headset.

App overhauls

Some major apps are also to be expected, with some of the biggest and most-used apps out there, including the phone, safari and camera apps.

The latter of those is likely to see some big changes, with reports suggesting that it will become simplified after adding so many features over the years.

We've seen the distances that the camera covers dramatically increase over the years, but I wouldn't be expecting anything like the James Webb Space Telescope in this latest update.

AI updates

We've seen pretty much all of the world's biggest companies embrace AI in recent years, but Apple may actually use its power for good, in a way which might even make British tourists more likeable in Spain.

Apparently, we will soon be able to translate foreign languages in real time, which suggests that the days of ordering dos beers might soon be over.

While some highly advanced glasses and airpods already offer a similar service, letting everyone with Apple technology including phones, watches and iPads, have access to this should definitely make things easier when you travel.

It's unclear at the moment how it will all work but it could be a massive help when trying to sort transportation, order a meal or speak to locals while you're abroad, especially in countries where English is harder for people to understand.

New messages

The message app is likely to look a bit more similar to WhatsApp, while other changes are likely, including chat backgrounds and polls, which means we can now decide on which pub to go to in the group chat far easier.

New update names

Perhaps the least exciting of the lot unless you're really into your tech, the names of the updates will now match the years when they come out, meaning that iOS 19 will become iOS 26 when it is released.

Game-changing games

Finally, if you love to play games on your phone when you're bored or travelling to work, then things might be about to look slightly more organised as its expected that we will have a portal for all things gaming on our phone.

The more organised among you may have created your own folder for this already, but sadly its unlikely that the classic games of old (I'm looking at you flappy bird), will be making a return at todays conference.

This year's Apple conference, referred to as WWDC25, will be held Monday, June 9 through Friday, June 13 and can be watched on YouTube, Apple's website and the Apple app, starting at 6pm tonight.
