The UK government has revealed what household item you should always keep in the house in the event of a major emergency.
Keir Starmer said at the Munich Security Conference in February that with the ongoing threat of Russia, Europe 'must be ready to fight if necessary'.
He added that once a peace deal in Ukraine is agreed, 'we must answer this threat in full'.
After the US and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, Richard Shirreff, a former deputy supreme allied commander of NATO in Europe, warned that 'future historians' will 'look back' at war on Iran as 'the final catalyst for a third world war'.

With that said, the UK government has shared advice on dealing with disruptions such as power outages, which could happen in the event of WW3.
A key recommendation is to keep a wind-up radio in the house if there's a power cut.

“There might be updates communicated by radio during a power cut,” the government explains.
Wind-up radios are able to generate electricity manually by turning a hand crank which spins a small generator inside the radio.
This powers the receiver and speaker, or might charge an internal battery.
It allows the radio to receive broadcast signals without mains electricity or disposable batteries.
So even if power grids, mobile networks and internet systems fail, wind-up radios can still receive emergency broadcasts and government updates using AM, FM, or shortwave signals.

It comes after the European Union urged households to get their '72-hour survival kits' ready due to the various 'challenges that cannot be ignored'.
450,000,000 people who live in the EU have been told to make sure they have all their essentials ready if 'disaster hits'.
Their 'preparedness strategy' came about 'from growing geopolitical tensions and conflicts, hybrid and cybersecurity threats' and issues ranging from 'climate change', to the 'increase in natural disasters'.
President Ursula von der Leyen said 'our citisens, our Member States, and our businesses need the right tools to act both to prevent crises and to react swiftly when a disaster hits'.
