A student was so reluctant to leave bed that they ended up taking it with them to uni - rocking up to a 9am lecture with a mattress, bedding and dressing gown in what social media users are saying is a 'pure genius' move.

Many students are known to rock up to the supermarket in their pyjamas, shuffling down the aisles as onlookers scowl from afar, secretly just jealous they don't have the balls to do it themselves.

But one took things a little further recently, having turned up to uni with their bed because it was too early to get up.

TikTok user 'Magda' (@kapciaks) posted a video of the student, writing: "She said f*** it I'm sleeping still."

Hashtags also included #uni and #lboro - the latter suggesting the stunt took place at Loughborough University in Leicestershire.

"When you have a 9am lecture but still want to stay in bed," a caption in the video said.

In the footage, the unnamed student can be seen entering the building with a supermarket trolley containing the contents of her bedroom, walking confidently in her dressing gown, socks and sliders.

She then wheels it into the lecture hall and sets everything up on a long desk, placing the mattress down with her duvet and pillow before... getting into bed.

Other students can then be seen walking in to start their lecture, pausing at the door briefly as they clock their sleepy peer - who proceeds to pop on a pair of sunglasses and flash a peace sign to the camera.

Many people commented on the post - which has racked up more than 910,000 views and 139,000 likes - to say that the idea was 'pure genius', with one writing: "Omdays I love this ahah."

Someone else said: "The commitment to turn up before everyone else too."

A third wrote: "The dressing gown made this whole video."

However, it seems as though the plan backfired slightly, as the reception in the room was somewhat lukewarm.

When someone asked what the lecturer said, Magda replied: "No one cared and the lecturer said it looks toasty."

Better than getting kicked out, I suppose?
