There's always some trend or challenge making the rounds on TikTok and this week, a rather cute couples one is rising in popularity.

It's called the 54321 challenge, not to be confused with the song 5,4,3,2,1, which is also a popular trend on the social media platform.

TikTok users claim it can detect fake relationships, because someone who truly cares about you and knows you should answer five questions about you correctly.

What is the TikTok 54321 challenge?

Creating a 54321 video is a way to see how much your partner knows about you.

Basically, you text your partner and ask five, four, three, two and one things about you which they have to answer.

What are the TikTok 5,4,3,2,1 questions?

For example, you might text them:

  • What are five things you love about me?
  • What are four things I like?
  • What are three things I look good in?
  • What are two things I say a lot?
  • What is one thing you would change about me?

It's essentially like a virtual version of the game Mr and Mrs.

You then make a video with you on the one side and your significant other on the other half of the screen as they answer your questions.

The challenge has gone viral and the hashtag #54321questions has had more than 47,000 views.

What is the 54321 song challenge?

The other 54321 challenge has nothing to do with couples. Basically, people film selfie videos of them mouthing the lyrics to the song 5,4,3,2,1 by Cassie.

TikTokers taking part in this challenge can be seen in front of the camera doing a countdown on their fingers, following the lyrics "five, four, three, two, one..." before there's a sneeze and a bass drop.

At that point, the TikToker mimes the sneeze in the lyrics and ducks their head and then when they come back up for the chorus, they either have a filter on their face, have changed their outfit or have changed their appearance in some other way and continue to dance along to the song.

Like most things on TikTok, it's a bit of fun which involves dancing to a catchy tune.

But whether you love it or hate it, nothing's ever going to be as catchy as the sea shanty, let's face it.
