Engaged Couple Become Throuple After Tinder One Night Stand

It was supposed to be one night of fun, but now the trio are in a relationship and are happier than ever

An engaged couple became a throuple after a Tinder one night stand became much, much more.

Nurse Rebecca Bono met Dr Marty Cole at their workplace in Albany, New York, USA, but she only started to really get to know him after crossing paths with him and his fiancée Natasha on Tinder.

Marty and Natasha had been engaged for six years and met up with Rebecca for a fling, but she ended up spending more and more time with the couple, and over time they realised the dynamic had changed.

This left Marty and Natasha with a bit of a conundrum, as they were due to get married, but two weeks before the wedding they decided to open up about the new addition to the relationship to their friends and family.

The wedding went ahead as planned in July last year, with Rebecca their guest of honour.

Rebecca, 26, recalled: "I recognised him on this app, with his fiancée, and I thought I’d give it a try. It was just going to be a one night thing – and it was a great night.

"We thought we’d make it into more of a regular thing, but things really took off from there.

"Natasha and I started seeing each other during lockdown when we weren’t going to work.

"We’d take the dogs for a walk, then make dinner and cupcakes for Marty when he got home, and it just kind of made sense to stay there more and more.

"In May 2020, we had a conversation. We realised that I was basically living at their house, and we all enjoyed spending time together – we were in a relationship."

While they knew they had become a throuple, whether or not Rebecca should come to the wedding was a tough decision, but ultimately they decided it would be wrong to not have her there.

Rebecca said: "Marty and Natasha had already planned their wedding, so we had to have a discussion about whether I was going to attend – would it be comfortable for me? Would there be jealousy issues?

"Two weeks before the wedding, they told me that they would find it so much more special if I was there, but only if I was okay with it.

"It was a little overwhelming, because I had to meet all their family at the wedding."

The trio are now enjoying their post-wedding life and are excited about sharing a future together.

Rebecca said: "My family were a little hesitant at first. I had introduced Marty and Natasha to them as 'just friends' before, but before the wedding, I had to tell my family that I was dating them.

"They also had no idea I was bisexual, so it was like a double whammy.

"I think my mum initially thought it was more of a polygamous, sister-wives type of thing, and I had to explain to her that Natasha was my girlfriend as well.

"The more she spent time with Natasha and Marty and really got to know them, the more comfortable she became.

"Marty and Natasha are so sweet and lovely to me – it’s oddly the most healthy relationship I’ve been in."
