Artist Imagines How Godzilla Was Able To Stand In The Ocean

With the release of Godzilla vs Kong this week, internet users have become transfixed on the length of the scaly monster's legs in the poster for 2019's Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Just look at that front cover - he's not exactly the daintiest of creatures. So how is he floating like a reptilian buoy?

A Reddit thread has emerged with people questioning just how realistic a fire breathing monster taking over the world WITH massive, long legs really is.

One user wrote: "Woa dude he could be a Victoria's Secret model."

Another made an interesting alternative point, writing: "How do you know he is not shooting a beam out of his ass and using the thrust to stay afloat."

Someone else is simply challenging the likelihood of any of it happening, pondering: "People also don't question another inconsistency on how Godzilla doesn't melt people into puddles of radioactive goo just by being in close proximity."

Although that is definitely not the most unrealistic part of the whole concept, one person totally debunked the comment, posting: "I literally just finished this movie an hour ago and when he gets supercharged he absolutely melts metal and brick as he walks around. At least one person dies to this."

"Naa he's just kicking his stumpy lil lizard legs hard as f***," someone casually surmised, while another replied: "This is what creates the waves in our oceans."

It all makes sense now.

The images have resurfaced with the new film out, but they actually came to light a couple of years ago.

The artist - Bro, don't like that la, bro - posted their imagined snapshots alongside the caption: "This problem was pointed out by my friend Dan Khoo so I tried to figure out the problem with this one scene from the movie.

"Maybe the real problem is that I think too much."

Some were there to point out larger holes in the cover poster: "I am guessing the real problem with this scene is that there is a gigantic lizard monster breathing blue flame out of its mouth."

Others had some theories of their own: "Godzilla can swim fast & dive sure can float also. He got swimming skills... The big tummy can support floating also as a buoy."

And a few were just happy that someone had the time and energy to put into such a trivial matter: "This post makes my life feel complete. Thanks for the great share."
