Dr Ali - who has one million followers on TikTok - was intrigued by the question, 'How long should sex last?'.
Like any good doctor, she did a bit of research and came back with an answer.
In a video posted on her account, she said: "So overall this is going to vary couples to couples, and obviously people define sex differently: does it include the foreplay, is it just penis-vaginal sex?
"The studies that were done look at penile-vaginal sex. So in 2005, when the study was done, the average length was 5.4 minutes."
How do we feel about that then folks? Feeling like the Mo Farah of penile-vaginal intercourse, or do you need to seriously work on improving your PB?
If you want to make sure you make it past the 5.4 minute average, here's a top tip: bonk to 'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen.
The chaotic nature of the song should retard your arousal, and as the average length of intercourse is 5min 24s, this means it's mission accomplished by the penultimate lyric, 'Nothing really matters to me'. Result.

Sadly though, while making it to the end of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' would be beyond the average length in 2005, it still wouldn't get you up to the desirable length; plus, the average length appears to be going up too.
Dr Ali explained: "Then again in 2008 they did another study and the desirable length was seven to 10 minutes [corrected to seven to 13 minutes].
"And then in 2020 they surveyed heterosexual women and they said 13.4 minutes was average."
OK, so according to heterosexual women it seems the average length has almost tripled since 2005.
How exactly this has happened is unclear, but clearly we need a new strategy if we're to last longer than average. Fear not though, 'cause I've figured it out - Barry White's 'Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe'. Three times.
Good luck comrades.
