It's fair to say he will age a treat

Lewis Capaldi needs protecting at all costs. The man has single-handedly made the internet worth visiting over the past few months - and guess what? He's only gone and done it again.

In the latest addition to the FaceApp craze, he may well have outdone himself. Using the app to make himself look older, it's become clear he bears an uncanny resemblance to none other 77-year-old music legend and former Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney.

Posting the photo on Twitter, he wrote: "I look like Paul McCartney if he was really ill."

There is definitely a likeness between the two - there's no denying that.

People have responded with more photos, suggesting more-than-passing resemblances to Lewis' amazing transformation, featuring anything from family members to government issue leaflets.

Now this last one is worth taking note of. You'll notice Lewis' Twitter name is now Chewis Capaldi - unless you've been living under some sort of rock, or taking one of those dramatic social media breaks that people tend to announce to the whole world, then you'll have seen the recent beef between Lewis and Oasis' Noel Gallagher.

Some have suggested Noel has been slightly harsh with regards to our Lewis, but the lad has taken it on the chin with class. At every twist and turn of the feud, he's come off looking even better, somehow.

About a month ago, in an interview, Noel questioned who 'idiot' Lewis Capaldi was, while discussing the 'f***ing w***' state of music.

Since then, Capaldi has ridden the wave incessantly: posting numerous videos on social media, taking to the stage at Glastonbury donning a parka and Noel Gallagher t-shirt, and partaking in 'Don't Look Back In Anger' singalongs with fans.

However, Noel broke his silence recently in an interview with Variety, in which he said: "F***ing Chewbacca should enjoy his 15 minutes."

And enjoy it he did. Not only did he change his name to Chewis Capaldi, he came out at Glasgow's TRNSMT festival wearing a Chewbacca mask.

He well and truly won this final round though. At Spain's Mad Cool Festival, where both artists were playing, Lewis was seen watching Noel's set with none other than the veteran songwriter's 19-year-old daughter Anaïs. They posted on social media, both shouting 'Dad' towards the stage.

Well played, Lewis. Well played.
