A woman who 'blurted' to her delivery driver that she was having a bad day was amazed when he left her a thoughtful gesture:

Sharing the random act of kindness on TikTok, she explained what had happened, showing screenshots of their chat.

She called it a 'modern day love story', which got her followers hoping it would be the start of a romantic tale.

The TikTok video reads: "I blurted to my delivery driver that I was having a bad day."

The screenshot of his message read: "Sorry to bother you it's the delivery driver, I'm not trying to hit on you or be awkward but lunch is on me today.

"I put your money in your mailbox, hopefully, this is able to change your bad day and slowly turn it toward a good day. Enjoy and be safe!"

Julia replied to his kind message, saying: "Hiii omg that was the nicest and sweetest thing ever. You really didn't have to do that, I'm still in shock lol, but I really appreciate it & it honestly made my whole week, not just my day, thank you so much."

She told him that she works at a pizza restaurant, saying she'll repay the favour and get him dinner some time.

The driver responded, saying: "I'm really happy to hear that. Don't worry about the lunch or dinner you don't owe me anything! I did it only to help even if it was just a little bit."

She showed a clip of the steak quesadillas she had ordered with the money he gifted her.

The video went on to get 1.3 million likes so far, with viewers wanting her to take it further with the driver.

One wrote: "You should meet up and get to know each other."

Another said: "Girl this gives me faith in humanity."

Someone else added: "You don't understand how much I need an update to this for my own sanity."

Clearly quite keen to follow up with the man, the woman posted again asking for advice on whether to contact him again.

But, giving up on the dream, someone replied: "As much as I want part two, I think he was just being nice, because you told him you guys could meet for pizza and he kinda declined, saying you don't owe him."

The dream appears to be over - for now, anyway.
