An NHS health visitor has revealed that she once worked with a couple who didn't realise that to have children they had to have sex and mistakenly believed it was just something that happened as a result of being married.
Rachael Hearson, 59, has spent more than 40 years in the NHS working as a nurse, midwife and health visitor over the years.
As you can probably imagine, having spent so long on in the NHS, Racheal has got more than her fair share of interesting stories to tell - so she wrote a memoir, Handle With Care: Confessions of an NHS Health Visitor, in which she's revealed all.
Speaking to the Mirror, Rachael opened up about the bizarre situation she found herself in the pre-Internet days when a GP told her that a couple he was treating 'didn't know how to make babies', resulting in her having to give them a talk about the birds and the bees.

She said: "They had been married for some years but children 'hadn't come along'. The GP deduced they didn't know how to make babies, and it was my job to ensure they did!
"They genuinely thought babies arrived as a result of simply 'being married' and had no clue. Teaching someone about sex is quite a responsibility. But within a couple of visits, the pair couldn't keep their hands off each other."
So, all's well that ends well, eh?

And this wasn't Rachael's only unbelievable incident - she also talked about the time she visited a couple about a sex offenders' course they were having to take, only for the dad in the situation to start masturbating during their meeting.
The fella, as you have probably correctly assumed, was the sex offender and was sat with his partner and Rachael while a discussion about the course was taking place.
While speaking to his partner, Rachael noticed the 'unmistakable rhythmic wrist action'. Rachael went on to say that he didn't acknowledge the situation and simply carried on as if they weren't there.
