Dax Shepard told his 11-year-old daughter Delta that when she was 18 he would freeze her eggs, and he's explained why.
Earlier this week, he spoke on his Armchair Expert podcast to say that the daughter he shares with Kristen Bell has been talking about how she wants to be a mother.
He said: "Delta was saying how she can't wait to have a baby.
"I said, 'When do you think you'll have your first child, when you turn 18?' I want to be supportive of whatever. I don’t want to plant any seeds that I’d be judgmental or whatever."

He went on to say that he thought his daughter would be a great mother when she was older and wanted to support what she was saying without judgment, and they discussed how she would probably be waiting until she was quite a bit older to have children.

Shepard guessed that Delta would be somewhere between 35 and 42 before she had her first child, while his daughter thought that was 'too old' for her future self and suggested she'd be in her mid-20s.
"I said, 'If you want to, we'll freeze your eggs when you're 18. I'll pay for you to get your eggs frozen so you don't have to think about that'," he told the podcast as he acknowledged that it 'isn't an option for most people'.
"But I think given where it's, the trajectory it would make the most sense. I think they're going to be wrestling with the same thing every woman is."

He said that when Delta was older, she'd 'want to do her career', while he and Armchair Expert co-host Monica Padman reckoned the 11-year-old was 'underestimating' how she'd feel about spending more of adult life before having children.
Shepard said that since his daughter was 11, being in her 20s 'probably seems like 80'.

He and Bell married in 2013, and they have daughters, Delta and 12-year-old Lincoln.
Their marriage recently had a bit of a needling from the singer Cher when she appeared on the podcast.

She said that of the two of them, Bell was 'definitely the better half' and told Shepard he was 'lucky', while he asked her if he wasn't the right guy for his wife, then he wanted to know who Cher thought was.
He asked: "Who would you like to see Kristen with? Who would be your dream partner for her? 'Cause I know you think she could be better, and I don't disagree. Who would be your pick?"
Cher admitted she didn't know, and Bell joined in the conversation to ask: "You've never thought about that?"
Happy to accept Bell's choice in husbands, Cher said: "The truth is, I trust her. So you must have something that I don't see."
