Why Phil Foden’s partner really stepped in as Lily Phillips approached footballer

Phil Foden's other half didn't take any chances when she saw OnlyFans star Lily Phillips making a beeline for her fella.

Rebecca Cooke comically extended a limb to ensure the adult performer was kept at arm's length last Saturday (13 June) while sat ringside at Manchester's AO Arena.

And according to one of her close pals, she had good reason to put some distance between the Manchester City midfielder and Phillips.

Footage of the ridiculously awkward interaction between the couple and Phillips went viral on social media last weekend, as Cooke wasn't shy about marking her territory.

She gave the X-rated actress the cold shoulder as she approached Foden - and Phillips has since hit out at his childhood sweetheart for being 'extremely judgemental' towards her.

The trio were among the star-studded crowd who packed out the arena on Saturday to see Tommy Fury take on Eddie Hall.

The former Love Island star triumphed, while he also announced the name of his newborn son who he welcomed with his partner Molly-Mae Hague earlier this month.

All in all, it was quite the exciting night in the ring - and for a fleeting moment, it appeared as though a catfight was about to unfold in the crowd.

Phillips, 24, made the most of being in a room full of big names and was flittering about the AO Arena grabbing selfies with the likes of Tyson Fury.

She appeared to spot Foden sat alongside Cooke - who he shares three children with - and decided that she fancied a photo with him too.

But the football star's partner had other ideas, as when Phillips approached, she promptly raised her arm and waved the OnlyFans star on her way.

Phillips - famed for her extreme sex stunts such as sleeping with 100 men in just 24 hours - later told LADbible that she thought Cooke was 'extremely judgemental'.

"Before I could even finish my sentence, his girlfriend, wife, whatever... was waving her b***dy finger in my face," she said.

"I was just asking for a photo, I'm not gonna shag your man. So I was like, settle down."

Both Foden and Cooke haven't spoken out about their side of things yet - however, an insider who claims to be close to the couple has now shared their two pence on the situation.

A pal of the pair has told The Sun why the mother-of-three 'shut down' the interaction between her man and Phillips so quickly.

"Rebecca and Phil have grown up alongside each other and it certainly hasn’t been all smooth sailing between them," the friend told the publication.

"But she has really learnt to stand her ground and will do whatever she can to protect her family," the source continued.

"The last thing she would want is a picture of Phil and Lily circulating, so she shut it down as quickly as she could and before Phil even really knew what was going on."

Although Cooke is well aware of her boyfriend's allure and his 'star' status, the source claimed she is often wary of women due to some incidents that have rocked her relationship in the past.

"She was deeply humiliated a while back when Phil was caught sneaking some girls back into his hotel room, and she’s never really gotten over that," the insider went on to allege.

"She is a mum-of-three now, and despite everything, she really is the glue that is holding the family together.

"She’s been Phil’s rock after he failed to make the England team. They have an unbreakable bond."

Foden and Cooke first met while attending school together in Stockport, Greater Manchester, and have since gone on to welcome three children into the world.

The 26-year-old ace regularly shares snaps on Instagram of his brood enjoying luxury holidays and fun days out together, while they are always in the stands cheering him on when he's making magic happen on the pitch.

He missed out on a spot in Thomas Tuchel's squad for the 2026 World Cup, but is no doubt buzzing that the Three Lions got off to a roaring start at this year's tournament.

England managed to secure a 4-2 win over Croatia on Wednesday (17 June) at the Dallas Stadium in Texas.
