It's been nearly six years since we said goodbye to the team at Dunder Mifflin Paper Company aka the setting for The Office US and life hasn't been the same. Sure, we can watch reruns but they just aren't the same as new episodes.

Well, if you're looking for something similar, hold onto your hats because Netflix has you covered.

Steve Carell, who played the quirky and weird boss Michael Scott, has teamed up with The Office US creator Greg Daniels to launch a new show about US President Donald Trump's 'space force'.

The show, which has the same name as the American leader's ambitious plan, will stream on Netflix but no actual release date has been set.

Sadly, the trailer doesn't offer much in terms of what we can expect from the plot or the style of comedy, but hopefully it'll essentially be Michael Scott's character in space.

When Trump announced the space force last year, many people were intrigued how that would work.

He said they would be in charge of defending American satellites from interference from other countries - which, to be fair, is a legitimate threat.

Imagine if an enemy took out vital satellites, rending the country's GPS and other services useless.

Trump said about the project: "The Air Force is going to focus on the Air Force. We need a separate branch, and we're working on that. It's called the Space Force, which is very exciting.

"People love it, people love it, they get it, and they love it."

Trump is very much behind the project.

The trailer for Space Force says: "The goal of the new branch is to 'defend satellites from attack' and 'perform other space-related tasks' or something."

That hints that the bunch of characters forced onto something like the International Space Station will be completely hapless and have no clue why the hell they've been jetted into the cosmos.

The news of Steve Carell teaming up with the creator of The Office US couldn't have come at a better time considering the show we all know and love could be pulled from Netflix.

NBC is planning on launching its own streaming service and its CEO Steve Burke says there's a good chance they will be wanting to reclaim some of their biggest shows.

Let's pray to Michael Scott that he can sort this and allow us to keep soaking up the goodness from the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company.
