Game Of Thrones Series About Jon Snow: Cast, Plot, Everything We Know

Game Of Thrones Series About Jon Snow: Cast, Plot, Everything We Know

There is a lot of hype around the Game of Thrones series all about Kit Harington's character.

Game of Thrones fans received some exciting news earlier this month that we could soon be getting a new sequel series all about Jon Snow.

The live-action spin-off of the HBO series will focus on the Emmy-nominated fan favourite character and will be set after the events of the series finale (yes, the series finale we have all collectively decided to pretend did not happen).

And yes, Kit Harington is set to reprise his role.

Author George R.R. Martin confirmed the series in a blog post, stating the whole project was Harington’s idea.

Martin said: "Yes, it was Kit Harington who brought the idea to us. I cannot tell you the names of the writers/showrunners, since that has not been cleared for release yet.

"But Kit brought them in too, his own team, and they are terrific.”

He also explained that 'outlines and treatments have been written and approved, scripts have been written, notes have been given, second and third drafts have been written', which sounds very promising.

Following on from the series finale, in which Jon Snow was exiled from Westeros after the murder of Daenerys Targaryen, the sequel series will likely pick up with Jon Snow’s life amongst the wildings north of The Wall.

The sequel series could possibly provide the opportunity for characters to undergo redemptive arcs to make up for less than satisfying arcs given to them through the show’s eighth season.

This could see the series including other surviving characters, such as Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie).

At the moment, the project is titled SNOW.

This means there are now seven Game of Thrones projects in the works in addition to the upcoming House of the Dragon prequel series.

That one tells the story of House Targaryen about 200 years before the events in Game of Thrones.

There are also other spin-off series called Ten Thousand Ships, Sea Snake (or possibly Nine Voyages), the “Dunk & Egg” series, which will either be called The Hedge Knight or A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and several animated projects.

However, none of these spin-off series have been officially greenlit at this stage, and the futures of these shows, including SNOW, will likely depend on the success of House of the Dragon, which premieres on HBO on August 21.
