Warning: This article contains spoilers for series three, episode eight of Open House: The Great Sex Experiment

A shocking moment from the upcoming episode of Channel 4's racy series Open House: The Great Sex Experiment will see a couple walk out of the retreat after feeling uncomfortable with opening up their relationship.

Tomorrow's (27 June) episode will pick up with couple Sharmayne and Jamie, who've headed to the retreat after being curious about opening up their relationship.

The couple had a rocky start to their Open House experience, with last week's episode seeing Sharmayne in tears as she realised the idea of seeing her partner getting intimate with another woman had left her feeling 'overwhelmed'.

Despite Jamie's best attempts to reassure her about the experiment, the 26-year-old stay-at-home mum remained uncomfortable with the thought of actually opening their relationship up.

In a new clip shared with MailOnline ahead of the next instalment, it appears the couple's time at the retreat comes to a premature end as Sharmayne remains unsure about opening their relationship up.

The pair decide to head on a date with fellow couple Jen and Mark, however they are unable to get intimate with each other.

Feeling defeated, Sharmayne and Jamie head back to their room and begin packing up their belongings, bringing their Open House journey to a premature end.

"I really can't do this," Sharmayne says, as her 29-year-old husband loads up their suitcases.

The couple are later seen driving away from the rural retreat in a first for the usually raunchy series.

Despite the early exit, Sharmayne remained generally positive reaction to giving the show a go, telling the camera: "I think this whole experience has been an emotional roller coaster.

"However I am glad that we've done it. We've got a lot to take away from the retreat."

Sharmayne wasn't the only person who had a difficult experience with the idea of her partner sleeping with someone else, as fellow contestant Tom vomited at the thought of his partner sleeping with another bloke.

However Tom was eventually able to come around to the idea, leading to him and Lauren able to both enjoy a steamy romp at the retreat.

Tom has since spoken about how the encounter has changed his life for the better, telling The Sun that he's now able to perform better in the bedroom.

"It's made me realise that I do really want this type of lifestyle. I like the after effects like cuddle and the stories," he said.

"Plus, it's a way for me to learn new things to bring back to our bed.

"Our sex life now is so good. I didn't imagine this would happen…. It's brought us closer together. It's really given us our spark back."
