Fans gutted as Jeremy Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm Shop has closed

The Amazon Prime Video famous farm shop cannot be physically visited for the foreseeable future

Clarkson's Farm fans have been left 'gutted' following the announcement that Diddly Squat Farm Shop is now closed.

Millions have tuned in to Amazon Prime Video to watch Jeremy Clarkson's agricultural showpiece ever since it first aired in June 2021.

During season one, fans took to Amazon and binged it in as little as a day, given how charming a take the show was on farming and the people that quietly run the agriculture industry.

It was also very typical Clarkson, with humour at its core but with serious undertones where appropriate, such as when talking about the important of agricultural to the UK economy.

Clarkson's Farm also introduced us to the likes of young farmer Kaleb Cooper, who became an overnight national treasure, as well as Clarkson's agronomist Charlie Ireland, and who could forget the farm's 'head of security' - and the man who subtitles were really made for - Gerald Cooper.

The show's third season is set to air in 2024, with a fourth series already commissioned for 2025 and beyond.

The hugely popular series follows Jeremy Clarkson's farming endeavours.

So far, the show has shone a light on Clarkson's run-ins with the locals and the council, including issues surrounding parking and demands to remove the farm shop's roof.

Clarkson was also banned from selling products that were not produced on the farm or within a 16-mile radius.

Nevertheless, the farm itself - aptly named Diddly Squat - has become a real-life tourist hot spot in the Cotswolds, itself an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Thousands flock to the location's farm shop, dubbed Diddly Squat Farm Shop, with it selling the farm's own produce including Hawkstone Lager, vodka and crisps, as well as other items such as socks, chopping boards, and T-shirts.

But visitors have recently been left gutted after the farm shop announced it will be shut for the beginning of 2024, with goods only available to buy online.

While the reason behind the closure hasn't been confirmed, it is believed to be for refurbishments, with councillors in the area praising Clarkson’s decision to close during the quieter winter months.

Per the Oxford Mail, Dean Temple, a West Oxfordshire district councillor for Chadlington and Churchill, said: "It’s quite sensible. If you have a business, whether it’s a pub or a restaurant, it makes sense to do any refurbs when it’s quiet."

The farm shop's Instagram account bio currently reads: "The farm shop is currently hibernating," so fans should be relieved to know that the closure is temporary, and certainly not permanent.

But nonetheless, people are gutted, with one fan writing on the farm's announcement of the closure on Facebook: "Absolutely gutted you guys are shut, booked a holiday for a couple of days this week, from Lincoln to nearby to Diddly Squat Farm Shop to finally be able to visit. I guess I will have to take another holiday!"

But fear not, as the farm shop's doors will reopen on March 1st.

One US resident even revealed the farm has been closed the last two times they have been in the UK, writing: "Seriously? First time I went it was closed now flying over again end of February and it's closed again."

The farm shop will be shut for a total of two months, and will reopen its doors on 1 March.
