A burger chain is set to open 100 new stores across the UK and Ireland, and it could be a bit of a game-changer.
Yeah, sure, there’s already plenty of options out there from Five Guys and Wendy’s to the newer Carl’s Jr. and the typical, Burger King, but what’s another?
Plus, this one really might stand out from the rest as some say it tops one favourite as it ‘beats McDonald’s’ with its burgers.

While various US chains have been trickling onto our food scene, this place comes from our neighbours in Europe.
The chain is said to be home to Amsterdam’s ‘best burger’ (and plenty of people will know that city does some good scran) and is slowly making moves here.
The chain actually opened up pretty quietly in London at the end of last year.

Serving up in Battersea’s Clapham Junction, Fat Phill’s has a variety of offering from Smashed Burgers and ‘Fat Sandwiches’ to Loaded Fries and Chicken Wings.

With a respectable 4.5 stars on Google Reviews for its first UK restaurant, the chain will also be heading to Ireland with Dublin’s Temple Bar set to get one next month.
The Dutch brand’s chains across the UK and Ireland are being led by franchisor Freshly Baked Ltd, the same team who treated us to the Auntie Anne’s pretzel shop.
Freshly Baked reportedly has plans to open more sites of the burger brand in the English capital, with a 10-year plan to launch 100 restaurants across the entire country.
Ireland will also see a few more popping up by 2030.
Key items on the menu include a Double Cheese Burger, currently priced for pick-up at £10.95 or the Philly Cheese at £11.50. That consists of thinly sliced ribeye steak, melted cheddar, grilled onions, grilled fresh jalapeños and Fat Phill’s sauce on a grilled sandwich.

As well as the various burgers and sandwiches, Fat Phill’s also serves up Buffalo Fries with the crispy golden fries topped with chopped chicken tenders, cheese sauce, ranch and buffalo hot sauce for £11.95.
Or, there’s the likes of Mac ‘N Cheese for £6.95, Battered Fried Chicken Wings for £7.95 and shakes from £4.95.
On Google Reviews, diners rave about the Nashville Chicken Burger and ‘authentic’ Philly Cheesesteaks as another wrote: “The best burger I’ve had in a long time!”
“Fantastic food! We tried the meaty burger, the Nashville fried chicken burger, loaded fries and mozzarella sticks. All amazing. Deffo recommend checking this place out if you need some fried goodness!” one wrote.

While some are ‘disappointed’ and find it to be pricey, food blogger By Row opined: “I can confidently say that this restaurant beats out McDonald’s and KFC any day of the week.”
