That would certainly cause a different ring of fire.

It's the condiment that some people absolutely love; they enjoy Sriracha hot sauce so much that they'd put it on their breakfast, lunch and dinner if they had a little portable bottle.

But it seems like a batch of Sriracha bottles that have gone on sale around Australia have a safety issue that would lead to a different burning ring of fire.

There has been a nationwide recall of 17 or 28 ounce bottles, with an expiration date of March 2021. People with affected bottles will get a full refund.

There are fears that these specific bottles have an issue with lactic acid build up which could cause them to explode.

While hot sauce exploding anywhere is a concern, the fact that it could end up in your eye is a situation you'd probably want to avoid if you could, right?

So, if you have a cheeky bottle with that expiry date on it then you'd best hand it back into the store you bought it from, just in case.

Lactic acid isn't a bad thing, especially in foods like these because it acts as a preservative, as well as a flavouring agent, according to Sydney Morning Herald. But obviously, you can always have too much of a good thing.
