Swedish Customs officials have stopped a German couple trying to enter the country with weapons and a concerning slogan on their truck.

The two German citizens wanted to permanently relocate to their Swedish summer home, according to Sweden's Aftonbladet newspaper.

They attempted to enter the country at Malmö via ferry and officials were alarmed when they saw what was emblazoned on the sides of their SUV.

Photos released by the Swedish Customs Service show the decked-out Hummer has 'Zombie Response Team' printed on the passenger door, along with a phrase at the back that said 'Infected People Will Be Shot'.

Global News reports there was a black case on the roof that also had 'Missile Launcher' stencilled on the front.

It doesn't take a genius to work out that doing this in the middle of a global pandemic isn't the smartest thing. To make matters, the couple was allegedly caught with more than a dozen firearms inside the car.

Among the stash of weapons were rifles, pistols, several crossbows, teargas guns and canisters, shock devices and a slingshot.

They've been arrested for trying to import weapons that require a permit and both people have plead guilty, according to Ekstra Blade.

The couple say the firearms and other items were purely ornamental and they weren't preparing to use them on anyone. They also claimed they didn't know that you couldn't stroll into Sweden without declaring you had weapons.

Prosecutor Michelle Stein told SVT: "No information has emerged in the interrogations that they were planning to shoot zombies.

"It's because they come in a car that has such decals on it that causes the Customs Administration to react.

"They were moving to Sweden and packed up parts of their household goods, including these items. But they believe they did not know that permission was required to bring it into the country."

The 'Zombie Response Team' or 'Zombie Outbreak Response Team' is reported to be a group of people all over the world who are doomsday preppers and have stockpiled things for the end of days.
