It's always fun arriving at the hotel, apartment or villa that you're calling home for the next week and scoping it out - calling dibs on the best room, checking to see if they've left you a bottle of something nice and having a gander at the view from the balcony.
That excitement is usually pretty strong, even if it's a crappy Air BnB that you're paying a tenner a night for, so imagine just how hyped you'd be if your destination was a swanky five-star hotel in Tenerife that cost a whopping £70 million ($90.8m) to build.
With seven pools, five restaurants, water park and a game centre, the new Fantasia Bahia Principe Hotel on the Spanish island of Tenerife is an all-inclusive fairytale-themed resort and has a total of 372 rooms.

At the heart of the complex is a massive white fairytale castle, which will become the setting for family light shows and performances.
There's also a 'Dragon Tree', which pays tribute to Tenerife's ancient legend of the Garden of Hesperides - a story that's apparently packed with dragons and, er, magical apples.
There are five restaurants on site, so you can pick your way through cuisines from across the globe - including Brazilian, Japanese, French, Italian and other Mediterranean sources.

There's also a wellness centre, which even offers tailor-made treatments for kids. Not too sure why they need spa treatments, given that they're not the ones trying to pay mortgages or get a promotion, but sure...
Isabel Piñero, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Grupo Piñero, told the Daily Mirror: "The opening of Fantasia Bahia Principe Tenerife marks several milestones for our company.
"On one hand, it consolidates and reaffirms our commitment to Spain, where seven of our 25 hotels are located.

"On the other hand, it allows us to present a new brand to the market: Fantasia, which we believe will put us at the forefront of entertainment innovation in the all-inclusive segment for families worldwide."
A family of five can stay in the Family Master Suite from £98 ($127) per night, with bookings now open for anyone to stay from as early as 18 November.

If I'm honest, though, I'd still rather have a grotty Air BnB for a tenner a night... Each to their own, I guess.
