A Muslim blogger is fearing for her safety after receiving a number of death threats because she posted a video of herself wearing an outfit that showed her stomach.

Madina Basaeva was wearing a yellow crop top and shorts and filmed herself dancing and miming to a song before posting the clip to her Instagram account.

Basaeva lives in Moscow but was born in Yekaterinburg to a family within the Tadzhiki community.

Despite it only being a 13-second-long video, she has received torrents of online hate from within the Tadzhiki community for what some of the conservative Muslim viewers perceive to be a lack of modesty.

The post was soon filled with comments that range from abusive to downright threatening. One said: "When will you finally die?!"

Another posted: "Someone kill her already."

One commenter who uses the online name umm.ma.96 left a comment that read: "Do not forget while chasing fame in this life, you will have to pay for it to Allah in the next one. Your naked belly button will cost you a lot."

This isn't the first time that Basaeva has taken abuse on the Internet for her posts. She has previously hit back at her critics, vowing not to change in the face of their threats. She said: "You don't like anything.

"You don't like if I am dressed, you don't like if I am undressed, you don't like the new content. Finding a new song and coming up with choreography you don't like either.

"It is impossible to satisfy you. Each and every one of you. Do you understand?"

It's not just online hatred that she has problems with either. She was reportedly harassed whilst she was travelling on a public bus around her home city. Luckily, she was not injured.

It is not known whether she has reported the online abuse to the police or not.

There are around 200,000 Tadzhiki people living in Russia currently. The community grew dramatically after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, when many travelled to Russia for work.

The Tadzhiki people have their roots in Persian culture and speak Farsi or Persian. Their traditional homelands are in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan.

The vast majority of people within the community are observers of Sunni Islam, although there are also smaller group who follow other religions.
