Ex-pornstar Lana Rhoades may be doing well for herself now, but she has a bit of a rocky past. When she was still in her teens, she did time in jail and she says it's "the best thing that ever happened" to her.

The 24-year-old grew up in Chicago and it was there that she said she got into the wrong crowd after a traumatic event, which she doesn't like talking about.

Speaking to the Call Her Daddy podcast, Rhoades said she had a boyfriend who was trouble and led her astray.

"Basically, I had a boyfriend and he had friends - shady people, they were older than me. They break in houses, they do all that type of stuff and I was just with them," she told podcast host Alexandra Cooper.

But, she admitted, "going to prison was probably the best thing that ever happened to me because I was on such a bad path in my life."

Rhoades also opened up about her past on ImPaulsive, which is Logan Paul and Mike Majlak's podcast in March 2020 (she was dating Majlak at the time). During the episode, Rhoades spoke about being "kidnapped by the hippie mafia" when she was 16 and being forced to work as a stripper to earn money for the gang.

She said she had been arrested more than 20 times before she wound up in prison and that she used to do "hardcore drugs" such as heroin.

When did Lana Rhoades go to prison?

When Rhoades was sixteen, she was sent to juvenile prison for a year.

Why did Lana Rhoades go to prison?

Rhoades said on the ImPaulsive podcast that she was used by the gang when they robbed houses because she was small enough to fit through windows, and that's how she ended up in prison.

She never received letters from the guy she was dating (and was responsible for getting her wound up in prison) and after prison, she decided to make a career in the adult industry work for her, rather than her just earning money for the gang.

"I never really did drugs again after I got out, I barely drink, never committed a crime after. I think I wouldn't be where I am today if I wouldn't have went," Rhoades told Paul and Majlak. "It saved me," she added.

In June 2021, Rhoades announced that she is pregnant, but she hasn't said who the father is.
