Just as we thought beauty standards on social media weren't high enough, TikTok users are raving about a new so-called "attractiveness scale," which compares your face to the 'most attractive' celebrities. Here's how to do it.

Videos tagged #attractivenessscale have been viewed more than five-million times on TikTok.

Here's everything you need to know about the new trend and how you can try it out for yourself.

What is the attractiveness scale?

The attractiveness scale gives you a score out of 10 for your level of beauty - with 10 being the highest.

The popular shapeshifter filter is used to compare the TikTok user's face to a chart of the most attractive male and female celebrities, who are also pre-ranked on a scale of 1-10.

The filter compares the TikToker alongside the chart to determine how well their face matches up to the 'conventional beauty' of said celebs.

On the male celeb scale, Ian Somerhalder and Tom Cruise are given 10/10, while Daniel Kaluuya is rated a six.

Men at number ten are said to have "exceptional hygiene and perfect traits for their faces. They will put hours into their appearance every day even if they are genetically gifted in the face."

On the female chart, Amy Schumer takes the top spot and models Adriana Lima and Miranda Kerr are at nine, which is described as:

"Extremely attractive - most people will agree she is hot or stunning. Virtually no facial feature 'defects', only variances which make a person look unique. High symmetrical. Two or more great body parts, and everything else is very nice. Perfect teeth. Hygiene is excellent."

This non-binary TikTok user decided to experiement and compare themself to both the male and female attractiveness chart.

This TikTok user was left puzzled as she was rated 10/10 on the men's scale while only scoring a 2/10 on the female scale, which is just one level above "conventionally hideous" - harsh.

So it goes without saying that if you're trying out the attractiveness scale, you need to take it with a pinch of salt and see it as no more than a bit of fun.

How to get the attractiveness scale on TikTok

To try this out for yourself, you'll need a photo of yourself and the 'incel attractiveness chart,' which is circulating on TikTok.'

Then, simply use the shapeshifter filter which finds the best celebrity match on the scale to your face and thus telling you where you rank.
