Don't heartwarming gestures feel all the more... well, heartwarming, when the giver doesn't know they're being filmed and has no idea that their act of kindness will ever make it into any public domain - let alone go viral?
We regularly see people slapped across social media as they perform acts of kindness, such as taking food to people less fortunate than themselves. But in our more cynical moments, it's easy to wonder: would they be doing it if there wasn't photographic evidence to share on their Insta for the lykz?
The last thing on this lady's mind as she left a Turkish cafe was becoming Facebook-famous though. She was more concerned about the stray dog that lay outside in the cold.

CCTV captured the woman, who was later identified as Duygu Elma, hoisting up her umbrella to fend herself from the rain. That was when she stumbled across the black and white dog curled up asleep.
Initially, she stood for a few seconds debating what her next steps would be as others walked past without even noticing the poor pooch.
Soon enough we can see Duygu remove her scarf before laying her umbrella on the floor and draping the garment over the dog, who wakes up for a brief moment.

What a LAD.
The video was posted on Facebook and up to yet it has received over 330,000 views.
Speaking to The Dodo, Duygu explained that she didn't expect any praise - which makes it all the more beautiful.

She said: "I couldn't imagine that my actions would receive this attention. I'm very surprised about it. The weather was so cold. I just couldn't take it when I saw him shivering."
This reminds us all too much of the Iceland employee who gave his jacket to a tiny dog outside one of the stores when it was raining heavily.
The tiny pooch had been cowering in the rain soaking wet after it was tethered outside the Finaghy Iceland store in Northern Ireland.

It was spotted by two of the store's employees, Luke Carlin and Lauren McCartan, who decided that they should do something to help.
Unable to carry the dog inside, they decided to protect it by using one of their store jackets to protect it from the elements.
After the video went viral on social media, bosses from Iceland decided to reward the company's selfless employees.

Their generous actions earned Luke and Lauren a Customer Service Award in recognition of their quick thinking.
Our faith in humanity has been well and truly restored. Well, it was the only way to conclude an article like this, wasn't it?
