Dog Left Looking Like Alpaca After Snapping At Groomer During Fur Cut

I think he manages to pull off this look, to be fair

A cute pooch was left looking like an alpaca after he bit his groomer halfway through his first post-lockdown trim.

Lisa Torres, from New Jersey in the US, took her shih tzu-poodle cross Cheddar to get his fur cut, but he had other ideas and snapped at the woman grooming him.

Thankfully, Cheddar didn't cause any injuries when he bit the woman but it did mean his pampering session was cut short... unlike his fur.

Cheddar was left with a mop of curls on top of his head that had been puffed up for maximum effect.

Lisa, who works at a property management company, says she took Cheddar to the groomers only to be called back an hour early because Cheddar had nibbled the groomer.

Red-faced Lisa arrived to pick up her pooch but was left in hysterics when she saw his new 'do.

Lisa said: "When I got the call I chuckled a little and thought, 'Oh my god, I'm on my way to pick up a lion,' and when I get there it's the funniest thing in the world.

"I walk into the store and I'm completely embarrassed, like, 'He's not my dog, he's a rescue dog, don't think he's mine.'

"Because they blow dried it and everything, he was like a big poof and it was completely unexpected.

"The groomer apologised and asked if I wanted to try [again], but I said, 'No, it's okay, we can just go,' and I completely understood because I wouldn't want to be carrying on after I got bit.

"When I got into the car, I just found it hilarious because he was sort of looking at me like, 'What's wrong, mum? This is what I was going for.'

"I called my boyfriend and told him, 'I have tears in my eyes, my stomach is hurting and I can't even pull off because Cheddar is sitting here like he's cool but he's not, he looks crazy.'

"Now he walks around the house like, 'This is what I wanted and I don't know what the problem is.'"

Lisa reckons Cheddar's 'sassy' attitude is what landed him in trouble with the groomers, explaining: "He's adorable, but at the same time he knows what he wants, because he loves to be petted but only when he wants to be.

"He'll be like, 'I'm not in the mood today, so don't touch me,' and give a little 'grrr'. He's sassy.

"But maybe it was the mask that kind of scared him, because they did have to have a mask on."

Lisa said she apologised 'a thousand times', paid in full and left a tip for the groomer who was nice enough to say sorry for not being to complete the job.

Photos of Cheddar have gone down a storm after Lisa shared them online, with one pal comparing him to an alpaca and another saying he looks like Bob Ross.

One friend wrote: "I see a lot of young men with this style now."
