Shirtless Hero Risks Everything In Order To Save Stranded Dog On Frozen Pond

A hound in Russia was left stranded when the ice beneath his paws in the middle of a frozen pond collapsed.
Video footage shows the helpless dog fighting for his life after he plunged into the cold water below.
What looks like game over soon turns into a heroic story, though, when a brave (and shirtless) man put himself in harm's way in order to rescue the stranded pup from the natural trap.

Bystanders watch the guy run towards the helpless dog, giving little thought to his own safety in the process. The man lay down on the ice and edged slowly towards his four-legged friend. He offered his help which was met by the frightened canine taking a number of snaps towards its potential saviour.
Undeterred, the man saw an opportunity and confidently grabbed the dog by the scruff of its neck and pulled him to safety.
Not all heroes wear capes. Some are even topless for some unknown reason. Is it any wonder why a man is a dog's best friend?
