LAD Spends £8,000 Transforming His Shed Into A Fully Functioning Pub
| Last updated
Readers - if you own a disused lambing shed and you're not sure what to do with it, then look no further. This LAD had the inspired idea of turning his into a fully functioning pub - and it is seriously impressive.
Tom Pountney's shed is now a sheep-free zone, with the woolly fellas replaced by a fully kitted out bar, tables, fruit machine, TV, darts board and even a little sheltered smoking area.
The 31-year-old, from Oswestry, Shropshire, spent six months on the conversion project, spending his evenings after work building the pub - which he has named The Stumble Inn.
Mr Pountney finished the pub almost two years ago, having spent £8,000 ($9,805) on the impressive watering hole.
Speaking to LADbible, the landscaper said having his very own garden pub was worth all the time and money he invested.
He said: "Most of the work was done myself, the only bits I had help with was the roof, as it's concrete fibre which is very heavy.
"It was worth every penny. All my friends and family love it and we have shared many times in there for a barbecue. I also have a folk band who come and practice every other Wednesday."
Like any good pub, The Stumble Inn has a number of beers available on draught, as well as spirits and just about any other tipple you could desire.
Mr Pountney said: "I have almost every kind of spirit, Coors Light, Carling, cider, wines and a coffee machine."
He is not the first to have the fantastic idea of turning a section of his garden into a boozer though. Paul Nowak, from Sheffield, spent just £90 ($112) building his very own back garden bar out of wooden pallets.
Speaking to LADbible, he said: "I got the pallets for nothing, the crates were nothing, 40 quid for the roof... with paint it was 80 or 90 quid.
"My mate's got his own bar so he gave me all the beer mats and that.
"When people come around we all just sit up there. It's just a bit different, and it's good for barbecues, especially in this weather."
No doubt Tom and Paul will enjoy a few well-earned garden bevvies this bank holiday weekend.
