Man Covers Wall In 6,000 Gummy Bears After Partner Asks Him To Decorate 'Tastefully'

"This is the tastiest wall anyone has ever done."

A fella pranked his partner after she asked for him to 'tastefully' decorate their living room wall and he covered it in 6,000 Gummy Bears.

Builder Nick Smith, 32, has, like most of us, found himself with a bit more time on his hands than usual so decided to put it to good use winding up his other half.

He and daughters Isabella, seven, and Amelia, five, spent more than four hours sticking sweets to the wall to pull off the prank.

In the clip, which Nick shared on his Facebook page The Smithy Family, the dad-of-two shows off his handiwork to his less than impressed partner Jess who asks: "What's this?" To which Nick explains he has done as she's asked and decorated the room 'tastefully', adding that he reckons this is the 'tastiest wall anyone has ever done'. Fair point.

Nick told LADbible: "I had some out-of-date sweets - one of my mate's owns a shop and he was going to throw them away, but I thought I'd take them and use them to wind my partner up.

"It took me and the kids four-and-a-half hours; there was ten boxes, which was six thousand sweets in total.

"It was pretty easy to get them to stick on - we were just licking them and popping them on."

Nick pretty much got the reaction, you'd expect... Jess was not pleased.

"She was pretty shocked when she walked in," he explained. "She'd been out while me and the kids did it and they were out of the picture by the time she come home, so I was left on the spot."

To make matters worse when it came to removing the sweets it turned out to be a bit of a nightmare.

Nick added: "We're redecorating soon, which is good because it's taken all the paint off the wall!

"I had to literally scrape them off the walls - they stayed up about 36 hours in total."

Thankfully for Nick, Jess eventually saw the funny side of the joke and the family are delighted that their funny clip has given people a bit of a laugh during lockdown.

Nick said: "It's been very nice. It's really endearing reading everyone's comments. It's so nice to know that us doing what we're doing as a family to keep ourselves sane during this lockdown is putting a smile on people's faces."
